  1. Surely you eat more then just meat?  Didn't you ever have pasta with marinara sauce or a vegetable stir fry over rice?  Every omnivore I know has had those.

  2. Try doing something that is meat-free rather than using a meat substitute which is always dissapointing. If you don't want to do a big fancy meal just try pizza - there are plenty of options there and it means you can have a meat one for yourself without bothering to make separate meals.

  3. try one of these 4:

Leek, mushroom and walnut croquettes on mash potato served with a red onion gravy and steamed seasonal vegetables

Basil and nutmeg crepe filled with butternut squash, hazelnuts and cheddar, served on red kale with a white wine sauce,  rosemary baked potatoes, steamed broccoli & rainbow carrots

Tofu baked in a tapenade crust on Mediterranean roasted vegetables ,served with brown and red carmargue rice and a rich tomato sauce

Courgette and aubergine tajine timbale on a falafel pattie, with a red quinoa salad, tahini dressing and harissa drizzle

  4. salad , fried soya and french fries or even soya burgers..

  5. For my vegetarian friend, I just heat up some SimplyAsia soup bowls. They're delicious, and all you have to do is add water and put it in the microwave. So they are of no extra/unnecessary hassle to me, and my friend simply adores them!

  6. i'm sorry but you don't sound very healthy.  even if you eat meat you should be eating a variety of other things.  you also don't sound like an open minded person. your missing out on A LOT of really good foods.

make foods that don't have meat... you should do yourself a favor and try them too... eggplant parm, veggie lasagna, pasta with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes... tomato basil soup.... minestrone soup... veggie burgers wtih sweet potato fries... the possibilities are endless and delicious.  sorry your so restrictive of your unhealthy diet.

  7. Vegetarian Pot Pie

    INGREDIENTS

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    1 onion, chopped

    8 ounces mushrooms

    1 clove garlic, minced

    2 large carrots, diced

    2 potatoes, peeled and diced

2 stalks celery, sliced 1/4 inch wide

    2 cups cauliflower florets

1 cup fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped into 1/2 inch pieces

    3 cups vegetable broth

    1 teaspoon kosher salt

    1 teaspoon ground black pepper

    2 tablespoons cornstarch

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 recipe pastry for double-crust pie

    DIRECTIONS

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

Heat oil in a large skillet or saucepan. Cook onions, mushrooms, and garlic in oil for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in carrots, potatoes, and celery. Stir in cauliflower, green beans, and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then turn heat down to a simmer. Cook until vegetables are barely tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch, soy sauce, and 1/4 cup water until cornstarch is completely dissolved. Stir into vegetables, and cook until sauce thickens, about 3 minutes.

Roll out 1/2 of the dough to line an 11x7 inch baking dish. Pour the filling into the pastry lined dish. Roll out remaining dough, arrange over the filling, and seal and flute the edges.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the crust is brown.

    Crust For Vegetarian Pot Pie

    INGREDIENTS

    2 cups all-purpose flour

    1 teaspoon salt

    2/3 cup shortening

    8 tablespoons ice water

    DIRECTIONS

    Heat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

Mix 2 cups flour and salt with vegetable shortening using pastry blender. Mix in 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water and stir until mixture forms a ball. Divide ball in half.

Using a rolling pin, roll one of balls to fit the bottom and sides of an 11x7 inch baking dish. Roll out the other half of dough to form top crust.

  8. Salads, pasta, rice, veggie burgers, fruits, veggies, bread. If they are Vegan, they will not want dairy or eggs

  9. try a chicken curry but with a meat substitute like quorn its got the same texture and flavour of chicken.

or check the quorn site it shoul have some good recipes.

    good luck with the meal!!!

  10. Wouldn't it be better to ask the guest? Maybe a waste of time for you but it may be what he/she likes

  11. i think pasta dishes are the easiest when you're serving a meal to vegetarians AND meat eaters.  you could make a vegetable lasagna, or spaghetti with marinara....bowtie pasta with pesto sauce or fettucine alfredo are great too.  just serve it up with a big salad and some garlic bread and you're good to go!

if pasta isn't your thing, veggie stir fry is great!  bean burritos or veggie fajitas are fun and your friend could build their own so that they get just what they want.

remember, the meal doesn't have to be fancy....they'll just love knowing that you made an effort.

if your friend doesn't eat eggs try to find an eggless pasta...there should be many kinds at your local grocery store.

EDIT:  you think pasta, rice, AND potatoes are a waste of time?   what the heck do you eat as a starch then?! lol.  it seems to me like you "want" to help, but you're really not willing to do much.  most people eat pasta, rice, or potatoes at dinner (most dinners are proteins, veggies, AND starches)....not just vegetarians.  if all of those things are "wastes" to you, i suggest ordering a pizza.......then you won't have to spend any time at all on having a nice dinner with your friend.

  12. Fish or fish fingers and salad vegetarian pizza yum

  13. veggi curry with homemade roti

         or try

baked potatoe with beans and cheese

or  a bed of rice with a stir fry consisting of mixed veg and a hoi sin sauce.

  14. I use to cook for summer camps and I find Burritos are good for mixed meals.  They can have refried beans with cheese and veggies and you can still have meat in yours. Make a side of rice too.

  15. If it's a friend and you're hosting, you should be kind enough to accommodate to his needs. I have a diabetic friend and if I were to have her over, I'm more than accommodating. I understand if you're a strict meat-eater but you can maybe prepare a simple salad or try a vegetarian recipe for a change (I'm sure you'll start liking it too). Don't rule out the vegetarian option as vegetarian food can be AMAZING and AMAZING for your health, depending on what you're making.

If you need veg food recipes, search online for simple, yummy vegetarian recipes. Here are some search options I came up with for vegetarian/vegan recipes:

    http://www.theveggietable.com/recipes/ea...

    http://www.cok.net/lit/recipes/...

These website has info & some how-to videos:

    http://vegetarian.about.com/

    http://www.vegweb.com/

Even if you go to YouTube or any search engine with videos, type in 'vegan' or 'vegetarian' for recipe videos. Ah the possibilities are endless! :)

    Good luck! : )

P.S. If all fails, order in some vegetarian food from a restaurant. ;)
