  1. It does seem odd but you may not have the whole story.  Maybe she is working privately with midwives.

  2. Even if she has no prior medical history of health problems, she still needs to go to make sure the baby is developing properly and there aren't any birth defects

  3. I feel annoyed. That's crazy. Even if there is nothing wrong, it's called preventative medicine.  Babies need to have regular check ups!

  4. Yes she should have gone, because there are so many problem that can accure in pregnancy. With my first pregnancy, I had no problem with anything and with my second I had blood pressure problems. Also she wouldn't know if she had gestational diabetes until it was too late. She doesn'tnt know if the baby has a sever medical deformation of the heart or anything like that. The baby could have fluid of the brain or a hole in the heart. There are just so many things that could be wrong. She really needs to be seen. I would but in and tell her she needs to be seen, Good luck.

  5. I think that she isn't doing the best thing possible for her unborn child. I know that back in the day people didn't have care for pregnant women but this is 2008. She needs to see someone regarding her unborn child! She may not of had any problems with the other two but every pregnancy is different. She needs to get off her cheap, lazy butt and go to the dr.

  6. I don't understand that, at least if she doesn't want a doctor, see a midwife. But that being said if she feels comfortable, there are no laws against it. You can always ask her why she feels like not having medical help? Will she go to hospital to give birth?

You are a good friend, maybe she can put your fears to rest if you talk to her. Good Luck!

  7. I would privately question her wisdom or lack thereof, but unless I knew her really well and was comfortable talking about such issues, I would keep my mouth shut.

  8. She should be getting some care. Even if the first 2 pregnancies were fine that doesn't mean that there wouldn't be problems this time. I guess I don't understand why a person wouldn't be getting prenatal care.

  9. Well if the reason she hasn't been to a doc is bc she lacks health insurance then I can't really judge her.  If she has adequate health insurance but is just lazy then I would say shame on her for not ensuring her baby is healthy.

  10. I'd question her lack of concern for sure! (Well not to her face, she might want to smack me flat for asking!)

We have the technology and resources today to prevent a lot of ailments that can occur in utero, so it is questionable that she hasn't had a single appointment.

Even if finances are an issue, there are plenty of resources available.

  11. Perhaps money is preventing her from seeing the doctor, But she should really find a way to see one. For her health and the baby.. .

  12. you know that's child endangerment my friend did that and got her baby taken away it don't matter if your other two pregnancies were fine that don't matter that is irresponsible on your part are you sure that your as far as long as you think you cant know for sure I'm not trying to be harsh but babies are the world and you should want your baby to have the best care possible
