What do you feel about the "BREAKING NEWS" headline scrolls that networks use?

I see some of these cable network channels always using BREAKING NEWS headlines when there really isn't any. Fox news really seems to over use it. I saw the headline once on Hannity and Colmes that it was BREAKING NEWS that Obama had mentioned Hannity's name at a campaign rally two days earlier! Is that really breaking news,lol Remember when breaking news was when someone famous died, a War started etc...

  1. They do this to grab your attention and keep you on the edge of your seat like a high drama movie.  You are expecting some earth shattering news that applies to every single human on earth and all that happened was Paris Hilton broke her fingernail getting out of a cab (just made that one up, but that's the kind of breaking news you get.  After awhile it gets old hat and you don't pay attention to the "breaking news" anymore.
