What do you feel is a better option?

Which do you feel is a better way to adopt? Fostering into adoption, Private adoption, or Overseas adoption?

Personally, I prefer that adoption be left to the realm of pets.

As in humane society, rescue league or as a last resort newspaper and flier ads - or just word of mouth

I think foster to adopt is the a great way to go, especially if you would consider an older child. They are so hard to get placed and end up getting bounced from one foster home to another.

Anyway you go adoption is a wonderful way to have a family!

its so individual, it really depends on you and your situation. we personally adopted through our state, i wanted to foster first but there is always a chance the child will be plaaced back in their home so its not always a given.... either way, its a wonderful thing to do for a child regardless of how you go about it, good for you, you wont regret it.

I think that overseas adoption is the best way to go simply because in foreign countries, especially ones like china or vietnam, you are really literally saving a life when you adopt from there. In America there are no babies that will grow up as slaves or in the child s*x trade, or be killed, because no one wants them. There are tons of infertile couples praying for a baby, any baby, to love.  So an unwanted newborn in America will quickly and easily find a very good home. In Chine a father may drown an unwanted baby girl to make room for a son instead. Sad, but true. Second to that, if you want an American child or an older child, fostered children are harder to adopt so it is a wonderful thing to give an older foster child a place to call home for good. I plan to someday adopt a toodler and a pre-teen girl from svay pak or a similair place, and also a teenage girl here in America who needs a loving mom. What a blessing that will be!
