  1. I think that usually you are better able to serve a cause if you are alive and working hard for your beliefs than if you are dead and beyond any contribution.  There's an old saying, "he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day."  Sometimes you just HAVE to die for your beliefs... but I DO think that dying for "the faith" can become more about YOURSELF than about the cause.   We are all VERY susceptible to vanity and overestimate the value of the "statement" our sacrifice contributes.
