My own hatred is 'tailgaters' (excuse the Americanism) especially when I am accompanied by my 3-1/2 year old grand-daughter who is visible through the rear screen.

  1. Well Effigy, speaking as an arrogant Volvo driver, I would have to say that when I am driving my articulated lorry, some drivers think it is a good idea and then swerve in front on fast roads. If only they knew how much time it takes an artic to stop perhaps they might reconsider their actions.

  2. Queuing and searching for a parking space. The most safisfying is driving on the  A & B roads in North Wales, away from the coastal freeway.

  3. The impatience of other drivers.  They seem to think that they are the only ones that have to get somewhere and everyone else has to give way to them.

  4. people who speed up from behind on motorway when i indicate my intention to overtake the vehicle in front, people who overtake me then slow down when in front, people who think its there right of way when joining a motorway off a slip road, lane discipline at roundabouts, drivers who think there super-mini needs as much space as a truck but my worst is the total lack of courtesy, commonsense and ignorance

  5. Tailgaiting is my pet hate too...I get equally stressed by drivers who don't know how to use their indicators and by drivers who don't get into the right lane for a roundabout and go all the way round the outside....that leads me on to the ignorant, selfish louts who don't get into lane for roadworks but zoom up the outside lane then push in. Grrrrrrr

Ah well, I feel better for that rant, Thanks :-)

  6. People that dont indicate. Especially at roundabouts

  7. The fact that every other car user is a horrible excuse for a human being, focussed solely on getting where they're going as fast as possible to h**l with everyone else.

  8. speed cameras

  9. people who do 20 mph in a 60! GET OUT THE WAY. lol, we dont all have all day.

And yes i agree, i hate tailgaters, especially if you are driving the correct limit!

  10. Other drivers make driving stressful in this country!

  11. Here's something to be getting on with...

    - People who don't use their indicators. Now an optional extra for most cars it'd seem!

    - People who hog the middle lane on motorways despite the inside lane being empty.

    - People who use FOG lights when it ain't foggy!

    - People who don't use their fog lights when it is foggy.

    - People who drive too close behind.

    - People who drive too close to other cars on the motorway, have to brake and then cause the domino effect and two miles down the motorway, you have traffic crawling along.

    - People who haven't a clue how to use roundabouts and causing near misses.

    - People who drive far too slow in the given speed limit.

    - People who see a gap between vehicles on the motorway (known as the braking/stopping distance) and just drive into it.

I love driving it's just the dangerous, inconsiderate and stupid drivers out there that make it stressful. You'll notice all the above is covered in the highway code and driving tests - the basics! It's like it all goes out the window when you pass your test for some people.

I know nobody is perfect but it's all taught when you learn so why do people choose to ignore it?

  12. other road users.

  13. People who think indicators are optional, especially on roundabouts. I've had a few near misses due to people looking like they're about to exit the roundabout on the second exit, and then expecting you to know by psychic ability that they were actually taking the third exit off!

Also, middle-lane hogs on the motorway cruising along at 50-60mph. Do they realise how much they slow the whole road down?

Roadworks Queue-jumpers get my goat too. I make sure not to let them jump-in in front of me. I queued, so they must wait for me to pass them while they try to push in.

    Grrr!

  14. All the other stressful drivers...

  15. i hate the bmw drivers because they think that the motorways fast lane is theres and i hate the boy racers espesully on my days off and i get called back in to work to clean up the mess what they have coursed. and i hate the last minute dot com drivers its a nickname i have gave them because they decide when to come off the motorway in the last minute and nearly course a roadtraffic accident. and what i find stressfull are the older drivers going really slow on the motorways .
