I would go for a Bond of some sort. Go to the bank, I will grow just as the child will in years to come. They start at 25 dollars i believe.

All of the answers are good.  I would want it to be something that he would hang onto since it is a special day.  You could go somewhere and get a special throw blanket that is monogramed saying the date and the reason on it, you could get a bible as suggested and have it monogramed on the front with the name and date with an inscription inside, maybe a scrap/baby book with pictures of before and after he came into their lives and have everyone write a note to him on what he means to them and have it under their picture.
