  1. Either something from their registry or a check in the card envelope.

  2. I think a good wedding gift is  pyrex baking dishes.. bc you can always use them.. and they last for years.. and they are relatively inexpensive.

Since you said they were well off.. maybe they don't do a lot of their own cooking.

Try something like maybe a $50 or $100 dollar gas card for their honey moon. Or gift certificates for a nice restraunt in your area.

  3. I would get them one of those prepaid gift cards, i think both amex and visa has them in many denominations. They could use it on th honeymoon or keep it for whatever...

  4. ask them where they are registered if you want - when getting married you make up a list of the stuff you want - its listed somewhere, either a particular store or on a web site.

  5. Traditonally men are not invited to the bridal shower where gifts are given. Everybody can go to the reception and that is where monitary gifts are given. Depending on the cost of the reception you would pay for yourself and date and then a little extra to help with the extra cost. I would not give anything less than $100 per person and work your way up. This again would depend on the type of affair that is taking place.

  6. ask, its the best bet, to many buy so much juggle because they do not know what to buy, and buy something of their own taste, and it just sort of stacks up in the shelves over the years (marriage, birthday, christmas and so on)

After having a mom who ended up tossing out all her reols to get rid of having to dust so much, and stop the encuragement of buying such stuff...simply because it would be obvious to anyone they got no where to put it. I have had to think it through, and realised she is corect, so i actualy changed my habit of buying gifts to look for things i think my friends can have use of.  And where i dont know then i try to get things like wine, bowl and some bags of something good inside it or something. So basicaly consumable things.

But again need to make sure you know their taste to some degree *s*, so really just ask, its by far the best you can do and much more likely to get you a few sugestions to pick from that they really will enjoy. As they will likely be going on honeymoon rigth after, then obvious some things consumable is not an option as it would be destroyed. But a lot of like salt & smoked meat, crackers and again wine, can be stored. And can make for excelent treat or meal for them later on to enjoy an evening after they come back home.
