What do you get from a data plan (at&t)??

Is it a necessity? Like for texting or internet, etc?

For either blackberry curve or palm centro..

It isn't necessary but it can get really boring without any kind of a data plan.

you get wireless internet.

for the vast majority of people, the data plan isnt needed (although buying a subsidized phone may result in you having to pay for it)

just internet, no texting
