What do you get someone who is leaving for war?????

my uncle is leaving for iraq and my parents and i are going to go say bye to him, should we give him anything?????? i'm so lost

Give him a prepaid cell phone like the ones TracFon and others sell.  Then he can call you.  OR give him a prepaid long distance card

Get him a journal so he can write about his time there

I would get an ipod and fill it with music and picture of the whole family. especial videos of the family having fun and playing with him... put a bible program in it also .... some psalms for when the nights are hard..

A personalized Zippo light for the branch of service he is in. If you don't have time for the personalization then skip it. Get him some spare flints too they are only 2 or 3 bucs. I like the calling card idea too. Thumbs up for that. But see if he gets some free calls from over there, or if he has to pay for everything. So now you have two useful ideas.
