  1. I was given a jewelry box with my initials graved into it.  That was probably 8 years ago and I still use it to this day. I love it!  Jewelry is always a good idea as well.  It isn't too hard to find a nice silver necklace that you can give to all the girls that has some kind of meaning.  Recently I was at a wedding where the bride gave all the bridesmaids simply things that she knew they would like.  One got a purse and another got a ring....just depended on the person.

  2. my sister in law gave all of us matching jewelry sets at the rehearsal dinner and we all wore them at the wedding. they were really nice but nothing too over the top

  3. There are some great engraved or personalized gift ideas at the following website, it's where I ordered everything for my bridesmaids

  4. I gave my bridesmaids a matching necklace and earring set along with a gift certificate to each of their favorite stores. I thought it would be better if I gave them the gift certificates so they can go out and select something that they really want or need.

  5. You should at least spend 1/4 of what they spent on the gowns and accessories. Some brides opt for paying for their hair (that can get very pricey) a traditional thing, you buy them their jewelry that they will wear on the wedding day. For my recent wedding, I had 9, yes, 9 bridesmaids and 1 flowergirl. So I 10 girls to shop for! I thought it was going to be difficult, but I went on ebay, found a particular jewelry set that I liked for the girls. I ordered 8 jewelry sets for my bridesmaids and a different color for my matron of honor and a miniature one for my flowergirl. I also went ahead and had personalized tote bags with the wedding colors for each girl and a miniature purse to match the totes for the flowergirl. This was all done on ebay for a fantastic cheap price and the quality of the items were amazing! I ordered this all in 5 minutes. My husband went ahead and bought each one of his groomsmen different items to suit their personality..BOY was this stressful and he went to Things Remembered and paid an arm and a leg. Try searching the web or Ebay and type in bridesmaid gifts.

  6. You can give them something they can wear at the wedding like a necklace or buy to get their hair done. You can also get them something personalized to help them for the day... like shirts or bags to hold their wedding day stuff. I would say get them something they could use... not something they will never use again... even if it is nice and personalized.

  7. I am giving my bridesmaids a variety of gifts.

First, I got them each a different colored pair of Swarovski crystal earrings.

Second, I got them a travel jewelry pouch.

Third, I made them a "Bridesmaid Survival Kit" with stuff they may need for wedding.

Fourth, I am paying to get their hair professionally done.

What frustrates me the most is when people who spend money on themselves give out cheap bridal party gifts. People are spending alot of money to be in your wedding and I think buying them nice gifts tells them you are grateful for their friendship and being a part of your day.

  8. i'm giving them each a swarovski necklace/matching earring set to wear the day of the wedding.

i'll tell ya, i've been a bridesmaid in 5 weddings.  2 of the brides gave me pearl necklaces, 1 of the brides gave me a necklace/bracelet set and 2 of the brides gave me tote bags filled with a bunch of junk.  you can get them whatever you want, but i have found that i cherish the jewelry more than the other two, it felt more special to receive those rather than a picture frame and a cheap keychain or nail polish.

i would suggest putting thought into what you're giving them...  bridesmaids have to pay a lot of money to be there for you, it doesn't have to be expensive, but it is the thought that counts and you want  your bridesmaids to walk away from your wedding feeling that paying $200 for their dress, $75 for their shoes and another $150-$200 for hair, make up, nails, etc. was worth it.

    good luck!

  9. My best friend gave us bridesmaids a jewelry box and the jewelry that we wore on her actual wedding day. It was gorgeous, nothing too fancy, but still very beautiful.

  10. i went on overstock.com and bought my bridesmaids a jewlery set that they will wear on the wedding day. i also got them a picture frame with a pic of all the bridesmaids together and a pair of flip flops for the day of if they wanna take their shoes off and not walk around barefoot.

i put all of this in a personalized tote bags i ordered online.

  11. My SIL gave us the jewelry to wear in the wedding. I gave my bridesmaids gift certificates for manicures and pedicures.

  12. The traditional gift is jewelry to be worn during the ceremony. But anything nice and personal, like a gift certificate to a spa, a great purse, or something beautiful for their homes, is also appropriate.
