  1. Fast food places are not the kind of place that I normally go to - except Subway and they have the "Veggie Delight".

When I go out, I usually go to Italian, oriental - there is one Indian food place that I have found that I really like.

Oil and spices on pasta is really good and the places that I go to have a good variety of things that I can make choice of.  Several oriental places that I go to - not hard to eat there at all.  I just ask what they have that a celibate Buddhist monk can eat - they understand.  Indian place - I ask the guy that I go with that is totally familiar with the food and he points out things for me to eat.

It works.  Not hard at all.

  2. Veggie Burgers are good. Tomato pasta. There are always options. :)

  3. sometimes i just ask like for a big mac w/ NO MEAT  or anything actually just w/ no pattie or meat its still good

  4. yes

you can eat anything that doesnt have meat in it

    its quite simple..

the of course im pescatarian so i cheat

so...look at the vegetarian bit on the menu

    that always helps

at fast food places you cuy whay you can have

    veggie burgers mozerella thingymes...

    chips

    veggies/mushroom pizza

    egg frid rice

you name it...we can eat it :D

  5. yeah, if Im going out I might as well get something I couldnt have at home . I love buffalo wings, so I usually eat those:) yummy

  6. yes i eat at resturants and fast food places, i don't always get a salad.

    =]

  7. I don't eat fast food and I rarely eat out at all.  I like to make my own food.  That way I know who touched it and what's in it :)  Plain and simple.

  8. Well I'm not a vegetarian but my friend is and they always have the best food! haha. Okay so mexican food is always good cause they get the beans and rice! And beans in place of meat in any mexican dish is pretty good!

    Cheese enchiladas are amazing!

When they get thai food they always get pad thai with no meat and its probably the best dish i've tasted!

salad isnt all there is in a vegetarian's life! =]

  9. Many of the vegitarians and vegans I know, not only do it for health reasons but for matters of sustainability.  IN this lifestyle there is usually no place for fast food, or fast food is chosen very carefully.   Vegetable subs area always a good fix if need be.  There are also a host of Japanese, Thai, Soup Bars and even Mexican places that can cater to a vegetarian/vegan diet.

Generally if I do eat fast food I will eat yakisoba, soup or a burrito with rice, beans and avacado.

Not all fast food is burger and fries.

  10. sometimes fast food places have veggie burgers, and depending on what kind of vegetarian your are they can have more choices like eggs or even a fish sandwich....I don't know why everyone thinks we only eat salads

  11. Wow some of you really need to read what category he had this in. Vegetarian & Vegan! Now I am not a Vegetarian but there are alot of different options that you have. At alot of fast food places really the only thing they have is salads to accomidate you. Now restuarants on the other hand have soooo much to choose from. Any mexican dish just about because in general they serve beans or something other then meat. Chesse enchaladas are good as well. Now I know that you can go somewhere like Big Boy's and get like spaghetti with a meatless sause or any other pasta on the menu. Also alot of resturants have a veggi burger option. I believe ruby tuesdays does. Well I hope this helped a little.

Ima Vegan- Please explain to me why chesse enchaladas are not Vegetarian. I didn't relize that chesse was made with any kind of meat prouduct. I must be really stupid or something cause I just don't understand.

  12. some places i go to do great vegie pastas.... roast pumkpin and pesto pasta etc. if the menu doesnt specify if its a vegetarian meal just ask what is. pasta is the best and they always have vegetarain desserts!!!! mmmmmmm

  13. It's not that difficult. I like Indian restaurants the best (at least half of the menu is vegetarian), but I can usually find something to eat at most restaurants.

I like salads as a side thing, but I can't make that the whole meal; I'll be hungry again in 30 minutes.

The only fast food places I go to are Taco Bell, Del Taco and Subway.

Today I'm probably going to order lunch from the Hare Krishna restaraunt. They don't have anything with meat because it's against their religion.

  14. Veggie Burgers

and frequently ask if they can substitute.  :)

  15. I don't eat at fast food joints.  The food is c**p -- vegetarian or not, it's just c**p.  I eat a good restaurants where they actually prepare and cook the food on site.  So, any competent cook/chef can make just about anything.  And no, I do not go to a steak house and ask for something vegan... I just do not eat at those sorts of places.

  16. I went to visit family this weekend and Friday night we had Mexican food, I got cheese enchiladas and rice and beans, plus enjoyed the chips and salsa and guacamole.

Saturday we went to Red Robin and i got their garden burger and fries.  You can substitute a boca burger for ANY burger they serve (so if you like the toppings better on a different one).  I don't like the bistro sauce on their garden burger, so I get no sauce on mine.

We went to KFC for lunch and I got mashed potatoes and no gravy, corn on the cob and coleslaw.  They also have macaroni and cheese.

On the drive there my boyfriend and I stopped at BK and I got their veggie burger and apple fries.

  17. I eat usually pizza or beef on a bun. ribs is always fantastic, too

  18. Stopped going to fast food restaurant since became vegetarian.

Unless it is emergency (very hungry and unable to find vegetarian food elsewhere) than can order apple pie or salads from  fast food restaurant .

  19. I really don't eat a lot of fast food anymore now that I'm vegan. I find that even if I ask for something simple like fries, I have to wonder if they were cooked in the same oil as other foods that I don't plan to eat (i.e. chicken nuggets, etc.)

Purchasing salads at fast food restaurants is the biggest waste of money IMHO. I can make a salad twice that size at home for less than 1/4 of the price, plus I know it's fresh. :-)

At any rate, I do go to Subway every now and again for a Veggie Delight. I also might go to Panera for their Mediterranean veggie sandwich or Chipolte for their black bean tacos. Beyond that, I eat at home a LOT.

:-) I like to cook, so I don't mind it so much, but I do miss the convenience of fast food sometimes.

  20. uhhhh salads are good.

  21. steak

  22. depends where you go, some places have a veg platter, salad bar, um apetizers are usually veg, boca or meatless burgers, or there is always salad or pasta

  23. I go to one place and get liver, bacon and onions, As I can't have it home, because everyone complains how horrible it is, and it also smells terrible.  But I enjoy it

  24. I don't trust most restaurants.  I certainly don't eat at fast food places because they are the worst offenders when it comes to our government's agenda of killing off the poor and minorities with cheap, fattening, chemical laden food.

I go to vegan and vegetarian restaurants or I eat salads.  I have a lot of choices here in Southern California.

EDIT: Vegetarians should NOT give their business to restaurants like KFC!!!  They are the WORST abusers of animals and people!  And cheese enchiladas are NOT vegetarian unless the restaurant uses vegetarian cheese.  And most Mexican restaurants put lard or chicken broth in their beans.  If you want to change the world, you can't be a "don't ask, don't tell" vegetarian.
