I think it was a neutral choice.  It may get some votes from women who don't care about reproductive rights, it may get more votes from the ultraconservatives who are unhappy with McCain.  But it will lose him moderate votes and independents who are pro-choice.  So I think it's a wash.

Sometimes I think the repugs want to self destruct so they can have a damned good reason to get rid of the old to bring in the new.

Just an observation, but after 8 years of the failure of neoconism, I think that would be a very wise choice for the repugs.

Bad choice for all the wrong reasons. One Palin is NO HILLARY CLINTon.. two most of Hillary's 18 million cracks were with her not only because she was a woman but they supported her on her stand on the issues. NO HILLARY supporter would agree with a candidate that is Pro-Life anti-abortion even for rape and incest!!!!!!!!!!! Get REAL people...That would include a 12 year old girl raped by her father...Yeah PROOOO LIFE right.. that is insane. Her stance on she believes Global Warming is a scamm.. OOOOH Baby.. this woman has been so involved with the eskimos she has no idea what the rest of the nation has been going through. No pun intended towards the eskimos cause I am native american myself.

Anyone who ask, "What does a VP do?" is already in trouble.. say what you want about Obama.. but he does at least know what the employment description is... MY God.. and to think if something happens McClain.. this nation is in trouble. The repubs says she has experience I don't see it.. She is NO Butta or Margaret Thatcher, or Condi Rice ...please spare me.

The argument is about Obama.. has no experience but he has a vp who has plenty and others he has advising him who have alot of years in washington = Ted Kennedy, Gore, Clinton, Kerry, Pelosi, Dean, and many more he can have advise him.. McClain croaks who will be advising her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... someone tell me please.. Dear God I hope it is not Bush or Cheney...

McCain's political logic is so flawed it amounts to political suicide.  Here's why.

The feminists put off by Hillary's failure to launch in the Democratic Party are not going to vote for a McCain-Palin, because Palin is anti-abortion rights and got her job because of her looks and charm, not her brains and her knowledge of the issues.  

Further, with Palin as his Veep choice, how can McCain argue that Obama lacks the necessary experience to be President, if Palin, with even less experience, is a heartbeat away from the Presidency of the oldest man to ever run for that office?

Now we learn Palin tried to get her sister's state trooper ex-husband fired over a custody dispute.  What else will come to light over the next 60 days?  A tryst with Bill Clinton?

I thought McCain had a chance of beating Obama before his selection of a Veep, but with this addle-brained move he has proven that he does not have the judgment or temperment to be President.  

Aren't you glad you learned this now before he got in office and it was too late?

before MCSAME picked his vp i was just going to stay home on election day and not vote. as a tradional conservative i didnt like either choices. McCain is throwing s***w balls into the race while obama is pitching under hand woofle balls. lol. I am so glad McCain picked palin i will be voting and i will no longer call him McSame. Obama is making promises and McCain is BRINGING change. ALREADY! need i say more?

His campaign really screwed him over. McCain likes talking about experience and substance and they give him Palin as a pure political stunt to get women voters and generate some excitement (first woman VP! Wohoo!). That's not what McCain is about. On the other hand, his campaign recognize they gotta somehow compete with Obama's commercial-likability factor, but I don't think they can (who can? The man is considered the Jesus of the 21st century). If McCain stuck to experience at least he could truthful to his message and take some nasty jabs. I don't know what would he do now.

In 2012 hillary will have to run against the incumbent Republican president, President Palin.
