  1. They are ok I dont care for the joint but it works

the same with the shaft I can take or leave them

If your looking for a majic wand it hasn't been made yet

Once you get past Straight -weight -and tip thats about all there is to any of them just personal choice and mfg's hype

  2. McDermott makes a nice cue for the money.Kracker is literally the only person I've ever heard say a bad word about them. I know a couple of cuemakers that actually recommend them in their price range. And  it totally doesn't matter if the shaft were to warp: McDermott is one of only 2 cue manufacturers I know of that warranty their cues against warpage. So if it warps, you get a new one.

I have a Predator cue, but it has a 314 shaft, not Z. It is well built, and does exactly what it claims to do: reduce deflection. This may or may not benefit you depending on how you play. Just keep in mind that any cue with a Z shaft will play VERY differently than any traditional, solid shafted cue. You should really try and use one in person before buying it.

  3. I've worked for an online billiards site which sells both.  Depending on what level of player you are, McDermott cues are good american made cues. The Predator shafts I would avoid.. A good alternative to a high performance shaft is the OB-1. Low squirt.. Low deflection... a great shaft.

  4. My primary cue is a McDermott.  I don't have any problems with it.  I've used the stock shaft for a while, but recently got a Predator 314^2 shaft that I've been getting used to.  If you buy from an authorized dealer, they have a great warranty and service program.

  5. Predator shafts are excellent, especially the Z2.  I converted from a Meucci to the Predator 5k1 with Z2 shaft six months ago.  The Z2 shaft certainly takes some getting used to, but I get much more precise english than I did with a Meucci black dot shaft.  I highly recommend it to players of intermediate-advanced level.

  6. If you buy a McDermott you will need to buy a predator shaft with it or you'll just end up with a warped shaft.  McDermott is just an Assembly line cue, nothing special about them.
