I knew silva was going to come strong as always but i didn't expect that knockout! that was great. too bad it was so short but it shows how much skill silva has. 205 is his natural weight and i can see him going far in that weight division.

  1. Great fight. Anderson Silva is definitely pound for pound the best in the world.

One poster on here suggested that Fedor is because he is a 25 fight win streak. The problem is, the last person he beat that is even worth mentioning was Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera in December of 2004.

He beats Sylva last night. So what. Sylva couldn't cut it in the UFC so he went down to the minor league (where Fedor lives incidentally).

I am not suggesting that Fedor is not a great fighter, but he hasn't faced anywhere near the level of competition that Anderson Silva has. Anderson has fought, and destroyed the best in the business. He completely decimated an entire division in the UFC. No one wants to fight him. He had to move up in weight class to find some "competition".

  2. Yeah me either.  I got up to use the bathroom when they were announcing them, I came back, sat down, and he landed that punch and jumped on Irvin.

I agree.  He had beat Dan Henderson, Rich Franklin, Travis Lutter.  All of them are very good and he beat them all by the second round.

  3. Silva is #2 P4P behind Fedor.

Fedor has a 25 fight win streak.

Silva has a 8 fight win streak.

  4. I was expecting Silva to win, but not like that! Irvin just made a stupid mistake and paid for it. UGH! Wow. :-)

  5. I didn't see that either. I was thinking Anderson would win by TKO(knees) in the second. I guess I was wrong.

    Anderson is a BEAST!!!

  6. Anderson is the best fighter in the world period. He says his responsibility is to fight and defend the middle title...Okami..Cote..lol. They have no chance in h**l. Silva should stay in the LHW division, alot more exciting fights there. Anderson could easily take that title from Griffin. After that fight with Irvin, the whole 205'ers should be sh#t scared.

  7. Silva is is a great fighter. No doubt. However people forget he couldnt hang in pride. And he fought a no-name.

His record is blemished,. Fedors is not.....

So whos the best fighter in the world????

    FEDOR/

  8. anderson silva is god. enough said.

  9. i dont know i was watching a real mma event!!! fedor is the best!!! anderson silva was nothing when he fought in pride, yes hes from pride.

  10. i loved the fight...i love it when the mouthy guy gets ktfo!

personally i think its silly to say he's the best p4p fighter in the world...impossible to say. even in his weight class. it's just a matter of time before he (and fedor) will lose.

people used to say the same thing about rich franklin...then anderson killed him.

what i like about both he and fedor is how little smack they talk...thats confidence

  11. fedor is the best fighter in the world without a doubt. Doesn't matter if he's fought only mid level competition in the last 3 years. You have to look at his entire record , not just the last year or two of fights. His record is bigger and better than Silvas.

Fedor fighting Randy Couture is a joke and Fedor will only get rid of him as quick or quicker than Tim. Not even sure what Randy has done to deserve such credit. All he does is pin people against the cage with makes for an extremely boring fight.

When it was time to trade blows he lost big time to Chuck Liddell.  All the Silva fans are just followers of Dana White and the UFC marketing machine. Last night Fedor destroyed a former UFC champ and he still doesn't get respect by the UFC/Dana white fans. You'll see.

  12. im gonna agree with the other comment silva is a god p4p #1 in mma fighting right now

  13. that was the coolest knockout i have ever seen...it came from out of nowhere...i really wish it would have been a longer fight though...i waited like a week for a whole 40 seconds of fighting....the Brandon Vera and Reese Andy fight sucked too...what in the world was Vera waiting for...he had such a huge reach advantage over Andy, he should have stepped up the striking game...he was all about the worthless take downs though...i wanted more from both of those bouts...especially the Irvin/ Silva fight...that went way too fast...kudos to Silva though...that was a h**l of a punch...

  14. silva is a beast, and since he pretty much owns everyone in the 185 lb division, I wouldn't be surprise if there's a match up with St. Pierre in 09. That would be Dana white's dream match up....and mine as well.
