  1. they said she might need some work if you plan to do of the prospect thing.  are you experienced enough to do that or do you have a trainer who could help you with that?  otherewise i think she would make a great horse.  if you ar an intermediate rider you might get bored with her but she would make a great beginner horse.  don't forget to have a vet do a prepurchase exam too.

    good luck!

  2. I find that the horse is very good

  3. First, i would really find out why they are selling her.

Make sure they have a vets papers and make sure everything is ok with her.

Ride her! That is the best thing you can do. Though she is beautiful, she can be terrible or a bit annoying when riding her. I rode this beautiful horse. He was amazing, but when i got on him he cantered bad and didn't do the turns right. He make a big fuss on the cross ties too. So that is why you need to ride and see her.

    I hope this works out!

  4. She looks okay - but I have some concerns.  I am an experience horse person and I don't think that I would buy her though.

My biggest concern is that in the first picture of her being ridden - her head is WAY up (for a QH) and there is NO contact between hands and bit.  She looks REALLY light on the front end - and if you pulled a little she might rear.  Maybe it was just a bad moment and her owners took a bad picture - but I really have concerns.

I show HUS in QH shows.  I know that we tend to have more droopy reins than dressage and pony club riders  - BUT that is really excess in that picture.

I also am concerned about the lack of consistancy in her riding.  Find out how many hours she's been ridden in the past month and in the past year.  Try to find out how many hours in her entire life.

If you have a professional trainer that you work with and are willing to send her out for a month - I'd consider it.  However, if you're embarking on this challenge yourself - I'd think long and hard, do several test rides, take a long a VERY experienced friend, and negotiate the price majorly.

Personally - I don't think I'd buy her with only one year of riding experience.  If you do - I'd offer them $1000 (after all, she sounds desperate).

That way it'll give you some money where you can send her out to a trainer if necessary.

Remember there are other horses out there - here is one that says "Bombproof"  http://equine.com/horses-for-sale/horse-...   and is less $!!

I also would absolutely not recommend a mare for a person that's been riding for 1 year.  Look for a gelding that's 7-15 years old in your price range.  You can check other sites like:  www.dreamhorse.com , www.equinehits.com , www.pleasurehorse.com

    Take care and best wishes!

  5. Get her vet checked and ask for a short trial period (or go back and ride her a couple more times)  If she passes and you get along with her, go for it.She's a good looking horse. I'd buy her.

  6. I love her she would be great for you 1,500 is an ok price but it is worth it.  Hope you two are happy together!!!!

  7. He seems like a very nice horse and a good price!  I would make sure that he is all healthy and sound and have a test ride on him. If all those are good. I would go for him!

  8. She is very cute. I say if you have a trainer go for it... deff go and try her out a few times to be sure you can handle her (since she hasnt been ridden in a while)

    Best of luck!! :) :)

  9. Doesn't look bad.

IF you have a trainer and she passes the vet and is HYPP N?N and HERDA free (Impressive & Poco Bueno both in the pedigree) she could make a nice ride.

Do check her age as a mare of that parentage was born in 1995 but she could have a full sister.

  10. Looks like a nice horse. I would suggest you test ride her a few times before making a decision though. She is priced pretty low, so make sure the reason is truly only that the owner is leaving for colleg and not that the mare has issues. She hasn't been ridden consistently, so who knows what habits she may have picked up. And you don't have a whole lot of experience to deal with re-training her. If you have a trainer that would work with you, it would probably be ok. Or if the mare is agreeable despite the time off, I say go for it. She's a very nice looking horse for a very good price.

ADD: Don't worry about the thumbs downs. We all know it's just some immature loser who has nothing better to do cuz he has no friends and no one to talk to :)

  11. Nice horse but since you have been Riding for just over a year, I would go for something more Novice and that has been Schooled and ridden quite alot.

It really depends just go and test her, have a ride sometimes you just fall in Love...

  12. Horse seems normal, but 1500 dollars seems like a lot of money for a 10 year old horse, But I;m sure if they can't sell it it will go to the glue factory, Buy a new Horse. You can buy some from Chincoteague Virginia when the local firehouse rounds up wild ponies, all the money goes to the local Volunteer fire Department

  13. Great horse!!

  14. I notice in the ad that it says "prospect" a lot. Which means that the owner thinks that the horse could do well at that discipline but has no training with that discipline.

She is a very cute horse but for only $1500, she would be too green for an experienced rider.

  15. What a beauty!!....lovely horse and ok price....she looks like a good size..and by the way Quarter Horses are well-known for there calmness and quietness and friendliness...There are also well-known for their great endurance!!!...Only a little info...

  16. SO CUTE!!!!

  17. She's pretty. If she has any bad habits, 10 is getting old to re-train, but if she's as  good as the ad, she's probably worth the money, though I would make a lower offer before paying what they're asking. That's what "horse trading" is all about.

  18. its a gorjuss horse though it looks a little flighty, some training and she would be perfect, you look a fabulous team

  19. That is a very nice horse. Wow, what IDIOTS have enough time to thumbs down people so many times for giving you a compliment? LOSERS!!!

  20. awesome looking horse

  21. Hello,

    My input!

I would skip on this one...  With your just new to riding I would want you to find a horse that is:

    9-15 years old

    Quiet

Can sit for months and rides just the same

Okay for all levels of riders

    Great ground manners

    Temperament 1-2

    Listens to body cues

THERE are good horses out there in this price range!  Keep on looking and feel free to ask me for help!!!  I have purchased around 15 horses online and sort of know what to ask and look for...

GLAD you are liking to ride!  KEEP it up, but it isn't too much fun, if your riding a horse that isn't a good match for you.....

  22. I really like her! She is pretty and moves well, and perfect age! Make sure to try her out though, good luck and I hope you get her!

  23. Aww, it's such a cute horse

  24. Looks like a neat little mare...test ride her more than one time...if you're serious about her get her vet checked...have fun with her!

  25. I'm not very keen on the fact that she hasn't been ridden consistently.

  26. Beautiful... quick buy her before I do lol
