As a Piston.....Was he truly a beast? or was he a bust. All of a sudden people are saying he sucks. I guess it's because he plays for bad teams.

  1. Unfortunately Big Ben turned his back away from the team that unleashed his true potential.

In a way that made him overrated, because after the Pistons circus he played with then coach Saunders and asking a maximum pay from the Pistons, he was never the same player that played for Detroit. The team concept of Detroit unleashed his true potential and with the Pistons then applying a more defensive outlook for their team under Carlisle and Brown, Wallace saw his role rose to prominence unlike his stints with Washington, Orlando, Chicago and Cleveland.

I don't think he was a bust, The whole Detroit defense was anchored on him at one point especially during their championship run of 2004 where he held Shaq steadily making his defense very prominent at the time, although I won't call him a beast since I said he was just riding the Pistons team concept, with Joe Dumars the architect of it all.

    Hope this helps.

  2. He quit on the Bulls. He's a quitter and a malcontent.

  3. ben wallace was a beast. was. i was watching nba tv and they were showing game 5 of the 2004 finals. painful memories for me as a laker fan. but i was watching, and ben wallace was a complete beast! he was doing it on both sides of the floor, making shots on offense and stuffing shots on defense. the commentators were debating on who should be mvp and one said ben wallace. i guess that's how good he was. but now, he's really nothing.

  4. I wouldn't say bust except for the bulls and Cavs. You need good leaders or good teams to help you look good.

He was pretty good in my opinion. But, if  you are in teams like the Pistons, Lakers, Hornets, and Celtics, all players seem to look good except for Kwame Brown and Sam.

  5. I think he was a system guy. Detroit was the perfect spot for him and he fit in very well. They won a title, he was defensive player of the year and so on. When he moved to the Bulls, he couldn't do jack. He isn't even starting with Cleveland.

  6. Ben Wallace is not a bust he is a great defensive player.

    Good Luck

  7. When he was a Piston he was good. But they covered up his flaws. When he was on worse teams, people discovered he has no offense. Besides the fact that he got older.
