a very fit athletic body...

not so great looking in the neck up.....

a very great defense game, excellent mover..

mentally still very brittle, especially in the grans slams

relys too much on tournaments for her rankings..

should have been in a grand slam final by now..

not really worthy the number one ranking..... has much yet to prove

but does have upside potential left

I think she's very talented tennis player though she still needs to work on her serve to really become dominant player. I also think she has the hottest looking body on WTA Tour :-) And she does look a bit exotic which is not that bad.

She plays a lot of tournaments, but has never been to a slam final. I think that says it all.

I like her; I think she is a great player. However, I don't think she deserves to be #1. She chokes way too much, especially in Grand Slams. On top of that, she has only won 1 tournament this year. But then again, I don't think any one really deserves the #1 ranking right now besides Safina.

Very gutsy player. Like Rafael Nadal in the respect that she always tries to run down every ball. Good forehand and probably an underrated backhand. Very hard to beat when on her top game but still mentally not at the top, at least where she needs to be if she wants to become number one. Needs to have the same confidence she has in herself when playing pro tours when she plays grand slams. Unfortunately, rather prone to injury and so always worried that something might rip or sprain.

Looks wise, I think she's pretty good. Good body, nice legs. face is average.

I keep rooting for her, but I keep geting back disappointments.  Shes really good, but she has a lot of ups and downs, she can be great at one point and then kabam and fall back down in a match,. sometimes shes not a fighter, thats the only problem.  But jelena, keep going and gl!

No one deserves to be the number one player without a Grand Slam, Jankovic has not performed well enough to earn this spot. But then again, in the women's game, who has? It just goes to show how much more interesting the men's game is at the moment, Nadal won RG 4 times and Wimbly, and he still couldn't be number one until he won Toronto and did well in Cincy. It's so much more competitive. It seems that in the women's game, all you have to do is wait for someone to perform badly rather than having the strive yourself. I'm sure Ana and Masha and probably Jelena Jankovic would disagree with me, but her name doesn't deserve to be up beside the greats.
