What do you guys think of the name Xin?

Pronounced "Shin" or something.

A good name?

  3. I know the Chinese name Xing, which means "Star", but I've never heard of Xin before... it could be an adaptation.

  5. It's cute.  However, if I saw it written down, I would worry about pronouncing it correctly. You would not want to have a first impression of you being confusion.  With a verbal introduction, if I heard your name as "shin" I would first think of the part of the leg between the knee and ankle known as your shin.  ??? do you want a name like that, regardless of what it "means" in another language.  You have to think about what it sounds like in YOUR language.

  8. Well if it's pronounced Shin, i dont much like it. when i hear Shin i think of the shin bone in my legs.

    i do like Zhang which is pronounced like (J-ong).

    edit:

    i found a site that pronounced the name Xin. it's actually pronounced like Cin (as in Cindy).

    now that i DO like!

    and Xin means beautiful.

    Because Christ-tina Is Spelt Xtina Sometimes,

    Or Christ-mas Is Spelt Xmas,

  12. I couldn't find Xin, but I found Xin Quan, it means "Happy, Beautiful" and it's for a girl.

    I really really like Xin :)
