Look back at our struggle for freedom,

Trace our present day's strength to it's source;

And you'll find that man's pathway to glory

Is strewn with the bones of the horse.

It takes a good deal of physical courage to ride a horse. This, however, I have. I get it at about forty cents a flask, and take it as required. ~Stephen Leacock

Feeling down? Saddle up. ~Author Unknown

A horse which stops dead just before a jump and thus propels its rider into a graceful arc provides a splendid excuse for general merriment. ~Duke of Endinburgh

Small children are convinced that ponies deserve to see the inside of the house. ~Maya Patel

In my opinion, a horse is the animal to have. Eleven-hundred pounds of raw muscle, power, grace, and sweat between your legs - it's something you just can't get from a pet hamster. ~Author Unknown

  1. And let's not forget "no hoof, no horse".

    Does anyone remember the one that goes something like this???

    For want of a nail, the shoe was lost

    For want of a shoe, the horse was lost

    For want of a horse, the kingdom was lost

    I think there is more to it???????

  2. They are all excellent!  BUT the "Feeling down, saddle up!" is my favorite.  For decades I've always called my horse, "My shrink on four legs." so I find it VERY appropriate.

  3. i agree with joey j! lol but i didnt bring my horse into my house lol!

  4. They are all very cool.

    Have to admit that a couple of weeks ago we very nearly had my friend's 16.2 TB in his kitchen ( it was soooo tempting !)

    -  The child who ran home weeping to you with a cut finger is now brought home smiling gamely, with a broken collar bone and incredible contusion- "it wasn't jezebels fault Dad"- Pam brown.
