  1. It looks like they don't make you buy gym specific training equipment which is usually a good sign that they aren't looking to gouge you for cash.

  2. they have some pretty limited hours but 80 a month is a good price for mma training i say try it for a month and visit other gyms

  3. dude no one will be able to tell you how good the school is based on a website. the fact is the school is only gonna be as good as you are willing to be. in other words, if u train so so , and dont try too hard, the best school is not gonna do much for you. Im sure this academy is fine as long as u give it all u've got.

just go in and try a class, i guarantee you they have some kind of free trial.

  4. I agree that you can not truly understand a school by their website. That being said I would like to point out my humble opinion based on what I have read and know about them.

First the instructor bio page is more like a poster chart for stroking his ego. It was informative but not in the stand point of how good he his at teaching. I have known many great and highly trained fighters that could not even teach beginners. Just being a champion does not make you a great Sensei.

Next it looks highly commercialized and I felt like they are in for the money rather than the glory or experience of teaching others. It may have a few good students but I would prefer a school where even the average student was above good. You won't find that in a commercialized training school...be it MMA or others.

Finally I have never heard of the Mr. Soto person. He says he competes in full contact martial arts but Tae Kwon Do is far from full contact and is not the best background for MMA. Just having a bunch of pictures of people you trained with (probably most of them at a seminar or two only) does not qualify you to be a great teacher.

Words of wisdom from my own Sensei..."A true master and teacher of any martial art is not known by what they do but rather by the accomplishments of their students."
