Marca.com: I don’t think Kobe is the best player. I’m the best player. There’s a line that separates having confidence and being conceited. I don’t cross that line but I have a lot of confidence in myself.

this was his answer when asked if he thought kobe was the best player in the league. i admire his confidence and he was certainly the better of the 2 in the finals. but even if kobe is not better than pierce, there are certainly other players who are better than pierce. thoughts?

  1. I think Kobe is better than Pierce. Think about it. Kobe's got it done all by himself (with a little help) but Pierce can only win a championship with two other players who are just as good or maybe better than him. I wanted the Celtics to win but I don't much care for Paul Pierce.

  2. He cross the Line into being conceited LeBron and Kobe are way better and he didn't beat them his team did they triple team both. I'd  pick Agent-Zero T-Mac D-wade Kobe Lebron as my starting 2 gaurd foward before him

  3. PIERCE ISN'T EVEN TOP 10 PLAYERS AS OF RIGHT NOW.

    1) Kobe Bryant

    2) LeBron James

    3) Chris Paul

    4) Tim Duncan

    5) Dwight Howard

    6) Dwayne Wade

    7) Deron Williams

    8) Tracy McGrady

    9) Amare Stoudamire

    10) Steve Nash

  4. Esta Pendejo, Translation he is stupid, he is on Crack without Allen or Garnett he is just trash, He is even worthy of being metioned with Bryant. What the h**l kinda crack is he smoking if he thinks that.

  5. I suppose it's okay to believe you are the best...even if you are not.  He did school Kobe and win the Finals.  I think it makes a better player if they think that...even if it's not true.  It's almost like you better believe you are the best.

  6. What up MVPKB24,

i've seen quite a few posts of this the last two days and i personally think it's blown out of proportion.

Charles Barkley used to say that no matter who he was playing- (including:  Magic, Jordan, Bird),... he would always tell them he was the best (even if he really didn't always believe it).  He says to play against guys like that- you have to think that you're better than them and don't let them know if you don't or those guys will kill ya.

Right now Pierce and the Celtics are on top of the world- and they can talk all the trash they want... the only way to shut them up is to beat them and keep them from repeating.

Who cares what Paul Pierce says. It's like how Ruben Patterson called himself the Kobe stopper- etc.

Pierce had a better series- and is probably now as famous as he's ever been... so let's see how long he can play at last year's level.

If you're simply asking if Paul Pierce is the best?  Heck no!  And most certainly not better than Kobe.

  7. sounds like he practiced that in the mirror...but hey, what can i say, he's gotta make himself look good/sound good

  8. Give the guy his moment!

  9. There's a lot of other players that are better than Pierce but he's still good and he knows that but he's not conceited like he said he's good and he knows it so he's just letting everyone know and the part about confidence and being conceited that is soooooooo true

  10. No player would ever say another is the best unless they truly felt like that way. I do believe Kobe is better however he did not do better. (If i asked u who's better u or that guy . . . u would say u are correct?) I like both but numbers don't lie.

  11. haha..wow..okay let him think think watever he thinks..where was he last year..he din even make it to allstar..again wow

  12. i'm a laker fan, but he did win the championship. he is the champ. making him and the team, the best this year.

  13. He is good, but not as good as Kobe.

  14. Kobe is better than Pierce, and so is Lebron, and Chris Paul at least will be soon....i like pierce and he's great, but just cuz you beat kobe's team for the title, and outplayed him in a series doesn't make you the better player.

  15. players who are better: Kobe even though he was shut down, steve nash, dwade, h**l even tmac but pierce is deserving for shutting down kobe but hes not the best.

  16. first - please provide a link to that article, since it's in Spanish and searches for "Paul Pierce" produces NOTHING...

and second - Paul has ALWAYS been somewhat chirpy and this year he has something to CHIRP about (think he's bad you should have been around for Larry, he was TEN times worse -lol!!)...

great players always have a high opinion of themselves even the unbelievably humble like Kowannabe (yeah right)...

okay after reading the question posed to Paul by a fan was " Do you think Kobe is the best?" to which Paul responded the same way ANY athlete would...to compete you HAVE TO have this mindset...if you have never been in this position it's  understandable that it seems cocky, but it the NORM...

  17. wins one ring and all of the sudden he finds out he has a mouth... besides he's usually too busy using sign language (bos vs. atl).

  18. Is Kobe the better player? Yeah. But Pierce gave a great answer, I would have given the same one. He's exactly right in his explanation too, he doesn't sound all that cocky in this quote either. It would be another thing if he went out and was like "I'm the best player in the league, no one else is close. No one can stop me or the Celtics." But he didn't say that and he comes out looking pretty good on this one.

  19. i don't have a problem with what he said

  20. first: hes totally wrong

second: he is crossing the line 4 sure

finally, pierce couldnt make it to the playoffs with out allen and garnet, but kobe got them in year after year after shaq left.

  21. Kobe is ALOT better than Pierce..

  22. i think people need to shut up and let their play do the talking...

  23. he definately isnt the best playerin theleugue, kobe is a mile ahead of him.

    hes not even top 10

    1.kobe

    2.d wade

    3.cp3

    4.lebron

    5.duncan

    6.deron williams

    7.steve nash

    8.duncan

    9.chris bosh

    10.carmelo anthony

btw hes not even the best small forward in the league carmelo and lebron are at the top

  24. he is not the best player thou. he doesnt carry the h**l out of a team like lebron and kobe.

  25. Wow... that's really hypocritical.
