The last question I posted, most people said it was a bad name. So my question is why? I think it's a beautiful and exotic name. What do you hate about this name?

  1. it sounds trashy

  2. Everything from the P through to the A.

It's like Pauline but worse. And Pauline is like Paul for girls, which is... just not nice.

The only way this name could be worse was if you added an 'ing' or a 'ly' on the end.

  3. i dislike the 'alina' sounding at the end which is warn-out old-fashion and paul being a boy's name.

Besides it I do think it's an exotic nice name.

  4. it sounds like the female version of paul. It is not the worst name i could think of, it's just a little old

  5. who cares what most people say, it's gorgeous.

  6. I LOVE this name.  Its old fashioned, i guess, but  not fuddy duddy like Hazel or Mabel. You can even call her Lina for a nickname.   I agree with you , its beautiful!

  7. It has Paul in it...and just sounds haggard.

  8. i think it sounds like an old persons name

like muriel or harriet or beatrice or something

  10. I think it is a beautiful name!  Think of Paulina Porizkova . . . she is beautiful.

  11. Whether Paulina, Pauline, or Paula,

You have made a wise choice.  This is a thoroughly respectable name.  It is distinctive, and is very appropriate for every age and stage of daughter's life.

In addition, this is a name any employer will be able to read and pronounce!

  12. I knew a baby a few years back and her name was Paulina and she was the cutest thing.  I was a little shocked at her name at first but once I got used to it then it was cute.  I think it's just old fashioned so it's hard to imagine a baby with the name.

  13. I don't like it. It starts with hard sound and end with one. Strikes my ears as unattractive.

  14. personally, i love the name. in america, it's considered old-fashioned and people dislike the fact that it has 'paul' in it (it actually stems from paulus). but in europe and in some latin places, it is considered a beautiful name. you are right in thinking it's exotic. it's a fairly popular name in some countries. i'm partially from russia and there it is a common name. the same goes for poland and spain. i agree with you, it is a beautiful name and i picture a gorgeous, thin Latina with this name. just because some americans consider it old-fashioned and some people don't like the name, doesn't mean that you shouldn't. we can't all like the same thing.

  15. I think it's pretty, but I really don't like the "aul" sound in it. However, I like it way, way better than many names (possibly most names) I see on here.

  16. The name is just misunderstood. Kind of like Simone and Beatrix, both absolutely gorgeous (Simone in particular) but people just bash them. I don't know where it all comes from.

  17. It's very aged. Some names sound better on girls when they're younger, but not older.

Paulina would sound fine when your daughter checks into the retirement center.

But her first day of third grade, I think not.

  18. I have nothing against that name!  It is the next town over from my house, which is only a cpl hundred yards (as in measurements).

  19. I LIKE it. Eastern European, feminine, not common, not 80s,

    (Like paula)

  20. OLD FASHIONED

  21. I don't hate it..

    I think is nice.. !

  22. the paul in it. and it reminds me of danny phantom lol
