  1. that inktownlegend guy knows what he is talking about but i would recommend the kenwood kac9103 amp becuase if he would have looked up the kicker cvr's individual rms rating he wouldve saw that it was 400 rms a sub rather than 300 but that is a mistake by that website. here is the link for the kenwood amp http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/...

keep the subs that he recommends tho and thats a good price on them too. Hope this helps......P.S. The reason i knew the cvr's rms rating from the top of my head is because i own 2 12" cvr's with a kicker zx750 amp that push them really good.

  2. i don't know what mike is talking about best buy is expensive and you don't even get your monies worth when you go their there isn't much you can get fro that price maybe one alpine type R 12 and a Rockford p500-1bd amp but thats just for the sub and the amp you would still have to but a box wiring kit and have some one put it in that is if you dont know how

  3. Try to buy CEA-2006 compliant amplifiers and head units.

    Look around for deals.

    My system was $550

Some things you need to know hattp://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com

  4. junk lol

  5. My shop and im sure many others also have package deal specials where you get a amp and subs and a box for less than 500.00. We have Rockford Fosgate and JL Audio packages for $500 or less. Both these brands are good well known names and you cant go wrong with either of them. Thats what I recomend. Dont go with the brand Dual, its cheap. Hope this helped.

  6. you can get GREAT SOUND! for that much money.. My friend just installed one 1200 watt sub ($80) and an amp for 65..

if your not experienced with installing systems. just go to bestbuy an buy their **** an let them install it.

  7. here is a good starter system (its around $500 including wiring)

these subs and box http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3867... with this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8651... or this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5027...

with CEA-compliant brands the amps have been tested and produce of exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and the subs can handle their rated RMS wattage also (distortion is the main cause of speaker damage)

    here are the CEA-compialnt brands

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    JVC

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    Memphis

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Orion

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    PPI

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony (don't like their subs)

if its not CEA-compliant you dont know the REAL RMS wattage and without that info its impossible to correctly match your equipment, heres what can happen

If you send too much power to your sub, you risk damaging it. The cone of the speaker and the mechanical parts that make it move may break under the stress. Surprisingly, too little power can also damage your subwoofer — in fact, it's actually more common than damage caused by overpowering.

When the volume is turned up and the amp doesn't have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or "clipped." This distorted signal can cause parts of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt. Not good!

You don't have to match speaker and amp wattages exactly. An amp with a higher output than the speaker's rating won't necessarily damage the speaker — just turn the amp down a bit if you hear distortion from the sub and don't run the speaker at extremely loud volumes for lengthy periods. Likewise, you'll be OK with a lower powered amp if you keep the volume down and don't feed a distorted signal to the sub.

  8. For $500 you can get subs but no amp speakers or headunit unless you go t a pawn shop. you might wanna double your budget and go with mtx, kicker, or rockford fosgate for subs, Pioneer or sony head unit, polk, mtx, kicker, mtx for speakers, and kicker or MTX amp. try to stay away from cheap brands like volfenhag, power acoustik, lanzar, legacy etc. and got to circuit city not bestbuy b/c circuit city is more knowledgable.

  9. 12" alpine type r 4ohm $112

    dual xdm head unit $112

    vented box $80

    Alpine MRP M500 $180

  10. i order a 1200 watt hifonics amp and two 12"cvrs  box included with 3 year warrates and a cap for all under $500 online.  Saved me alot of money.

Go to sonicelectronix.com Everything is good quality and cheap.
