  1. Well holding a Green-card doesn't prevent you from working abroad..But do keep in mind that if you're contract in Spain/Italy or Dubai last longer than 1 year, you will have to get a USA re-entry document in order for you to be let in back to the USA...with this document you may stay out of the USA up to 2 years and you must apply for it before you leave to work abroad

A re-entry permit allows permanent residents and conditional permanent residents to apply for admission to the U.S. without having to obtain a returning resident visa from an American Consulate.

    Benefits of Re-entry Permit

    A.    You do not have to obtain a visa from an American Consulate for returning to the U.S. after traveling abroad

    B.    You can remain outside the U.S. for the validity of the re-entry permit

    II.  Requirements for Re-entry Permit

You should apply for a re-entry permit if you are:

    A.    A legal permanent resident and you wish to remain outside the US for more than one year

    B.    A legal permanent resident who cannot get a national passport from your country of nationality (some countries accept a re-entry permit in lieu of a passport)

Note: You do not need a re-entry permit if you are leaving the country for less than one year.

    Best of Luck!!!

  2. In addition to the reentry permit, you need to file your Federal Income Tax 1040 each year by April 15th.  All your income, world-wide, is taxable.

There are certain exemptions and exclusions, but if you don't file you will lose your green card.
