Selection Process

Many well-qualified and committed applicants seek a career with the Queensland Police Service (QPS). Entry is highly competitive and based on merit.

There are three stages of the selection process. To be eligible for appointment to the QPS as a police recruit, you must successfully satisfy the requirements of all three stages.

Q – How often does the Queensland Police Service recruit?

A – At the present time, the recruit intakes are run every two months at the Oxley Queensland Police Service Academy, and every six months at the Townsville Queensland Police Service Academy. The Oxley intakes usually consist of 105 places, and the Townsville intakes have approximately 40 places.

you have to do what the other cops tell you to do, and break the rules that the other cops tell you to break. same as everywhere else really.

You have to have a clean record. So no driving offences, no crimes and so on.

You also have to some sort of degree in something to prove that you have to abilty to complete a course. So this is a course completed out side of highschool years.

You will also have to go to the Police accademy which will be just like going to college except its only for policing study.

In this course you will learn all the laws and undergo multiple fitness tests.

once you have complete this you get to help out with traffic guidings until you become completly qualified!
