  1. You need to be at least 16 years old.

You will need to pass a C.B.T. (Compulsory Basic Training) course.

You will need to have insurance.

You will need to wear an E.C. approved safety helmet.

The moped will need to have tax and a current M.O.T. certificate.

NOTE - 'Moped' is defined as any two-wheeler with an engine less than 50cc.  A 'scooter' and a 'moped' are NOT the same thing...

  2. CBT test, tax and insurance  x*x

  3. A Provissional or Full Photocard style licence (with paper counterpart)

    - Take a CBT training course (comulsory basic training)

    - Ride with 'L' Plates, carrying no passengers or sidecar

    - 50cc limit for 16yr olds, 125cc for 17yr olds,

    - Age 21, you are entitled to ride any bike

You will have to ride with learner plates which can be done for 2 years, then you will have to take a theory and a practical test within that time. Failure to do so, will result in your CBT certification being void, you will have to take the course all over again.

Theory test of 50 multiple choice questions, and 14 hazard perception clips. Same or similar to car. Then a Practical test.

    Test Prices :

    CBT - £100

    Theory - £30

    Practical - around £50

Theory tests are conducted at local Pearson Proffessional centres, prices increase constantly.

  4. Yah some test which is quite easy I think, just a few days I'm not sure - I had a relative which did this. It doesn't cost too much I don't think..
