What do you have to pay for on cruise ships?

I was just wondering if a cruise ship ticket covers the cost of everything on the cruise or if you have to pay extra for some things. Like, food, shows, massages, entertainment, clubs, booze, ect. Also, what is the legal drinking and gambling age on a cruise, do you have to be a certain age to go to the dance clubs on a cruise? If so what age? Thanks for your help!

On a real cruise you get: The cabin you paid for. Port taxes (in most cases) Food in the Main resturant(s) some reasturant(s) are usaly extra. Water and simular plus all entertainment.

Not included: Almost all alcoholic beverege (such as wine), tip (some cruise line ad this on their ticket). Spas and threatment. Casinoplays. If have a cruise only ticket you usaly have to pay for the flight to and from the departure airport. Each year cruiseliners try to find new ways to increase their incommes on things that passenger needs. So they are moving away from the "all inclusive" concept to what some refeer to as "none inclusive". But still the basic cruise is excellent value for the money Johan.

Included in the price of  mass market cruise lines:

On board entertainment, dining room meals, Buffet meals, and room service menu.  Iced tea, juice, milk, water.  Hot tea and coffee in the dining room.  Soft serve ice cream machines and the pizza bar.  

Not included:  soda, alchohol, Spa treatments, casino, specialty drinks and desserts, some gym classes, duty free shops

Gambling: in most cases, 18.  Drinking:  in most cases:  21.  some cruise lines allow those  younger to drink with signed permission from their parents(but parents must be on board with you)

if you are unmarried, you must be at least 21 to book a cruise, and if anyone is under 21 in the group, someone 25 or older must be in the room as well.

We went on a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas last year. You give them a credit card at registration and they give you a card w/ your name on it and a cruise account number. They give your c.card back to you. You used the cruise card to buy things on the ship. No cash is accepted on the ship. But you do use cash on the mainland. You pay for soda, room service (the ship does provide 24 hour buffets and formal dinners included in cruise price), alcoholic drinks (gratuity is included in price), extras such as gambeling and massages and shore excursions.

If you get a chance to go, do it!! It is an awesome experience!

"Guests under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult in all public areas of the ship. Guests under the age of 18 must vacate the disco by 11 PM"

So, basically as long as you're 18, you can be at the nightclubs.

Ms; drinking age is 21. Clubs 18. You pay for the fancy resturants, drinks,shops however you are given a keycard(like a credit card) your room key and for drinks etc. You put money on your ship board account before you board. Your best bet to get all the in & out is get a brouchure and it will explain everything. They have ebrouchure you can download.

A cruise out of the states...drinking : still 21, gambling: 18. food is included so are shows & clubs. You will get an activity schedule each night before the next day...then you can decide how much to spend etc.............I just came back from a 4 day and only spent $50 on board because there was so much free to do.

There are some high-end lines (Regent, for example) that are more inclusive.   You're not taking out your cabin card to pay for your wine or soda.  It really depends on the cruiseline about some of the items that you pay for or are included.  But for the most part, entertainment (Broadway-style shows, music), food (except for speciality restaurants) are included.  Even use of the gym equipment is included.

Spa services, some exercise classes (eg. spinning, Pilates), photographs (no charge for taking your photo, though), gambling, booze and soft drinks (on most lines), Internet use...these things usually will cost you.  As well as if you book an excursion through the ship (which may be worth doing as you won't have to worry about getting left behind if your tour bus has a breakdown).

Discos will often have a minimum age after a certain time.  But teens will be given time on the dance floor.

I know you have to pay for the massages, some of the drinks (the acoholic ones and the smoothes), the things in the shops (of course), the manitcures, etc....things like that...and if this cruise is from the U.S. 21 is your legal drinking age.
