  1. I am in LOVE with these

    books. I am a serious

    Edward Cullen fan girl >.>

I think that a lot of people

    have gone a little OVERBOARD

    when stating how much they

love Twilight. Yeah, I agree, they

    are a little overrated. I don't

know what makes them so enjoyable,

besides the fact Edward is in love

with a human (well, now a vampire)

and has to fight the urge to kill her...

But there are a lot of good characteristics

to the books. Like the now-a-day's

Romeo And Juliet, for people who

    can't understand a WORD Shakespeare

says. The writing is good, and there

are a LOT of big words that some

    can't comprehend. But that's what

makes them so fun, a 17 year old

using 100 year old words. It's just

    so unbelievable people believe it.

They are really good, and I strongly

    recommend them to ANYONE who

    loves a good romance/action story.

    And with your additional details,

It's good that you actually read the

whole saga and you are keeping

the bashing to a minimum, some

    Twilight fans can get PRETTTTY

    nasty.

    Hope this helped!

  2. Amazing love story, but horriby written.

  3. I DO BECAUSE I'M one of them....And on the opposite hand i don't understand how people don't like it..=)

    twilight rocks!

  4. The Twilight book was alright-ish. It didn't have much of a plot, it had no rising action and a pathetic climax and Edward was a bit stalker-ish, but I've read worse popular books.

New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn are so overrated and were clearly done for nothing more than money. If Meyer had left it with Twilight, she would've been MUCH better off. But apparently, ego and arrogance got in the way.

    Go figure.

Edit to the first post - I like both fantasy and romance novels, especially when they're combined... Usually. But this romance had no sustenance. The romance scenes were written okay-ishly, but WHY are they so much in love? Even love at first sight stuff needs soem sort of basis. Edward/Bella have none. Everyone in the book either worships the ground she walks on, no matter how much she hurts them, or basically wants her dead. It's so poorly written that it's just impossible to actually /like/. At least, it is for me. -shrug-

But of course, that's just one person's opinion.

  5. I think they are poorly written books that are not worth are the credit and obsession given to them. Its a fad book, it'll pass eventually and everyone will forget about it, just as fast as they fell in love with it.

  6. really? I love that book. Everyone has different taste i guess. It depends on whether you like fantasy and romance novels. Did you read the whole thing? Because I remember hating the beginning, but it got amazing as the book went on.

  7. i like it cuz its has everything in it even action and they r sooo addicting

  8. The best books I have ever read. Ever.

I love a good romance, but that doesn't even describe the Twilight saga. These books create an AMAZING romance. The books just suck you in, and so do the characters. Especially Edward (okay, I HAD to say it..I'm just a tad biased toward him (;   )

The different twists make it even better. Things that you don't expect happen.

I think I forgot how much I loved to read until I read these books.

The Twilight saga was so well written, and I think the author did an excellent job. I was so sad when I found out that Breaking Dawn was the last book in the series. I literally cried.

Overall, on a scale of 1-5 stars, I'd give it a million. (:

    Sorry, I'm an over-obsessed Twilighter (:

  9. i dislike the series, personally. i don't think they're worthy of all the hype and adulation they're getting, but that's just my opinion.

for one thing, i find the characters very flat and badly written. in fact, it's the characters that i have the MOST problem with, and if she'd just been able to make the characters better, i might have liked the series more, and been able to chug through the gushy, mushy romance stuff. (which was, by the way, laughable)

like i mentioned before, i found the romance over-the-top and cheesy, and bella totally and completely unsympathetic. honestly, i didn't care if she fell in a hole and died. actually, i was rather hoping that victoria'd eat her guts when she jumped off that cliff in new moon like a ninny.

anyhow, i also found the book's message to be disturbing- yes, girls, it's just dandy if you lean on your man all the time and are incapable of doing a single thing on your own. if he leaves you, what do you do? do suicidal things so you can hear his voice, of course! and when he comes back, just accept him as if nothing ever happened!

    nonsense.

i'm all for romance and true love, but this was just too much for me. just because a woman falls in love doesn't mean that she's unable to do anything for herself afterwards (as if bella was competent even before she met edward). it doesn't mean that she needs a man to lean on to survive, either.

i might be feminist in that way, but i didn't find one single really strong, feminine character in the whole series (i haven't read breaking dawn though...).

but again, everyone does have their own opinions, but that doesn't mean i shouldn't state my own. i mean no disrespect to those who love the twilight series (not saga! it's NOT a saga! if you don't know why, search 'saga' on wikipedia).

  10. I love all of them a lot and I can see why the books get on people nerves! But they are really good and Twilight is the best book i've ever read!

  11. I've only started reading Twilight, but it's hysterical....ly bad. There's horrible characterization, the writing is laughable, and it's completely misogynistic.

But girls (especially those who haven't found someone they really like) like it because of Edward, who's described as perfect and, of course, if you repeat something enough times, people believe it to be true. XD There's a lot of brainwashing elements about it, I think. There's an interesting forum at twilightsucks.com which goes about and critiques the c**p out of it. Most of what they  talk about is extremely interesting, if you want to check it out.

  12. waaay overrated. girls love it because it is an action-love story, to me its a good book but not one of my favorites.

  13. i really loved that book from beginning to end. i know there's some people who really hated that book, but twilight is probably my favorite book ever. a lot of girls love edward. a lot of girls can relate to bella. it's romantic and has action and is a fantasy novel. i loved it.

  14. I don't like Twilight at all. There are plot holes galore, I can't stand the characters, and they are poorly written. I agree with you, they are overrated, and I don't think they deserve the attention they've been getting. Especially after that flop called Breaking Dawn.

  15. I think they are really well written, just a crappy plot line.

Overall I like them, but I would've loved to see Bella tell Edward to p**s off when he got overprotective.

  16. Twilight is, overall, an okay book. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's good for those who inhabit a wild imagination and like creativity in a book rather than the plot (or lack thereof).
