I was EXTREMELY late for my period and when I got it instead of a period I had a little bit of brown discharge. I couple days later I had a little bit of pink discharge but that it and then I had brown discharge again. It lasted for about 10 days and then for a day it stopped and now I have brown discharge again its been 2 weeks of this and I don't know whats going on.

My doctor that I'm comfortable with is on vacation until next month so I cant go see her.

I've also had some cramps and sore b*****s

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening???

  1. Did you take a pregnancy test? That's step one if there's any possibility that you could be pregnant.  Otherwise, I'm sorry the gynecologist you like is out of town, but brown blood is not good.  That's old blood. With the cramps and sore b*****s you really must see another doctor.  They're all good, and with a blood test and pelvic exam they will know exactly what's going on.

This could be one of those things that you want to catch early, so please take the pregnancy test, and if it's negative, see a doctor tomorrow.  OK?   Good.  :)  Lynn

  2. To me, it sounds like your period is just irregular. Then again, I'm not a doctor, and that specific situation has never happened to me. If I were you, I would see another doctor or nurse practitioner in you regular doctor's office. This isn't the kind of thing you can wait until next month to solve. Good luck!

  3. I need your age, exercise level, stress level, and recent diet changes, also what would be good to think about is sexual history/habits. Could you be pregnant? that is the first to rule out. once you are sure you are not then

consider your level of exercise - I missed 3 months like this at a time when I was practicing for track in 8th grade.

Stress and pressure to succeed - think about it - if you are young it's common not to have a set perfect schedule yet, stress can cause the period to skip, you would be almost back to school and this is a stressful time if you are in that age range.

any odor? good hygiene? (using clean towels and not re-using them or sharing them is a common contaminant)

It's hormonal to cause the b*****s to become sore. that's why I think exercise and stress.

Get in to talk with a 24 hour advice nurse if you can. Just tell them your symptoms, and also ask what is normal for your age, weight, activity level and stress.

Extremely thin and/or heavy girls have this happen, and later in life may possibly cause reproductive difficulties for some of them.

I hope everything works out just fine. Don't let this add too much to your stress. Good luck.
