Depends on what you have ( i.e. two stroke vs. four stroke, carbs vs. injection, etc. )  Most common performance upgrades available is changing out your impeller, changing your exhaust pipe, intake grate modifications or head work.  As a rule of thumb, expect to spend about a grand for each 5mph improvement in speed.
