What do you know about Angola? Please answer without checking the map or encyclopedia.?

I am trying to find out how much is known about this country. I would appreciate your answeres. Thank you.

I'm ashamed to say I know very little about Angola.  It is somewhere in Africa (West?) and I believe it is a very dangerous place to live because there are civil wars going on.  I believe there are quite a few Angolan sanctuary seekers in Britain, but I could be wrong.

Its a small country in Africa, there hasn't been a civil war in a while (or no one cares about reporting on it, which is believable) and the football team rarely get through to the finals of the African Cup of nations and i think it used to be a french colony as opose to a british or portugese one.

All i can think of off the top of my head, plus i think its in north Africa somewhere.
