What do you know about King Abdallah City?

On Al arabiyyah they were talking about how 40% of Saudis are under 15 years old!

Building a new city by a company to accomodate the elite among them?

Its a wild idea, but I like it. Im thinking about moving there...

Any of you guys know about it other than what we already know from the newspapers etc?

50 km north of Jeddah on the red sea

It is built to attract investors and tourists

It is Dubai like

I hope thy don't have the influence of hard liners there

otherwise we end up having a big city with 0 attraction to the tourists....

is a multi-billion dollar economic project revealed in 2005 in Saudi Arabia. This future city will be located along the Red Sea, around 100 km north of Jeddah. With a total development area of almost 2 billion square feet, the City is located between the two Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina and the commercial hub of Jeddah. It will have huge buildings and tall skyscrapers that would be an important landmark in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. The project cost is about 100 Billion SAR = $26.6 Billion USD. The City is envisioned as an economic epicenter for the young. The basic drivers of the City will be a port with a cargo capacity of 30 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) integrated with an international airport and a railway line which connects important Cities in KSA.

The City is divided into six distinctive components: the Sea Port, Industrial Zone, Central Business District, Resort District, Educational Zone and Residential Communities.
