  1. An amazing history, a rich nature, a gorgeous culture.

  2. Moscow is the capital of Russia.

Eventhough Russia is part Europe and Asia, Russia is considered as a European country. What separates Russia from the Europe continent and the Asia continent is the mountain range of the Urals, which divides the Europe Russia and Asia Russia.

The second largest city in Russia after Moscow is St. Petersburg. In Russia, the main and official language is Russian, which is one of the Slavic languages. Russian uses the Cyrillic Alphabets, created by St. Cyril (If I'm not mistaken. Not sure about that).

Russian language is considered as one of the most difficult language to learn. Russian Christians are mostly from the Russian Orthodox Christianity, not similar to Roman Catholic. Other religions are also practiced by Russians eg. Buddhism, Paganism, Muslim etc.

Russian has a very diverse races. Eventhough there are Russians, there are also Asian descents especially in the Siberia area, which is near China, Mongolia, North Korea, Japan etc. So, there are plenty of Asian Russians in Russia.

Besides being the most largest country in the world. Russia isn't a populated country like China and India. Russian language is largely being used not just in Russia, but all Ex-USSR countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan etc. Eventhough those Ex-USSR countries now have their own official language, they still consider Russian as their main language.

Plus, Moscow is the most expensive city in the world for expats.

  3. its nice to visit, but not to live (personal experience)

and its also very stereotyped and therefore hated by many :(

  4. It's big.

  5. hi,

    i 'm a Russian literature fan.(especially Dostoyevski)

  6. well it really does depend on what you need to know, its kinda big

  7. I know a lot about Russia, its culture, people etc. as I am Russian. It is a unique country with great history and I believe wonderful future. Russia is in my heart and soul and now watching Olympic Games, I am upset that US media doesn't give a full coverage of the event, mostly portraying China and USA. I understand USA but why not all the countries.

When I think about Russia, I think about Dostoevsky, Bulghakov, Nabokov, Krylov, recently died Solzhenitsyn.

My memory also returns to Tsaritsino, Pushkin's Museum, Chistie Prudi... St.Petersburg!! I call it an open museum under the sky where you can fill the breath of the history.

And how I miss russkie blini ( American pancakes are not the same), vatrushki, derevenskii tvorog (cottage cheese), kefir...

Russia is not just big, it is full of great spirit.

    "Umom Rossiyu ne ponyat,

    Arshinom obshim ne izmerit,

    U nei osobennaya stat,

    V Rossiyu mozhno tolko Verit..."

I love Russia with all MY HEART!!
