Go to the Yad Vashem(Jerusalem Holocaust Museum) website at "http://www.yadvashem.org" and look under the heading "Righteous Among the Nations".  It contains a whole series of information about people who saved Jews during the Holocaust as well as their official stories. Sugihara's story is there along with survivor testimonies about how he saved them.

Sempo Sugihara was an outstanding human being and to this day celebrated in Israel as a Righteous Gentile. He found a way to help Jews in distress with no help from his government.

Before the Holocaust there were a little more than 200,000 Jews in Lithuania ... 95% of those people perished in Holocaust. 10,000 Jews survived . Mr.Sugihara saved 3,000 Jews. He is an incredible and courageous man who will forever remain in Jewish collective memory.
