What do you know about a Marco 50 Franc on the back it says Empire Cherifien 1371?

It is a fifty franc piece. I bought mine a while back, and I got it for $2.00 at an antique store. On the front it says: MAROC, that is the word the french use for the city called Marocco. It is made of bronze and, I think, titainium alloy. On the back it says Empire Cherifien, I am not quite sure what this entirely means, but I think it might be saying that it is a french colony in Marocco. There is a date, 1371, in the middle of a sun shaped marking, Prophet Mohammad was born in 550 A.D. so if you add 550 to the date you have, (1371), you get 1921. That is pretty much all I know, hope this helps.
