It is the hometown of one of my favorite singers Juanes. They just named a park after him there with a statue of him in it.

There is also a famos auther from Medellin called Jorge Franco his most popular book is called Rosario Tiejeras and it was made into a move they are currently filming a Movie of one of his other books called Paradise Travel.

Medellin used to be a very dangerous place but has greatly improved within the last decade and is quickly becoming one of Colombia's hot spots.
