For VISA Processing they have asked me to make payment of US$ 780 in favor of a third person's (Individual) name instead of the firms name.

Are you sure you should have posted this in the Australia section? Either way you need to ask this agent if they are licensed and make sure they give you adequate proof. If they are in Australia, they have to be licensed immigration agents or they are not allowed to operate. I can't comment on the US but it is supposed to be a First World country (despite having the death penalty and using torture) so they should have a similar scheme.

If you don't get absolute proof that these people are licensed, don't give them any money or you could easily lose it all.
