I've heard that those ancient Crystal Skull's workmanship can not be duplicated even with today's highest technology. This anomaly points to the existence of highly technologically advanced beings from a time before the Great Maya Civilization came to existence. The skulls seem to be a type of "Time Capsule / Computer" (mass information stored in quartz crystal) "waiting" for us to advance, before they reveal their deepest secrets to us. Richard Shafsky, a man counseled by a Maya shaman priest, was told the Mayan Calendars were created using information, about the cosmos, that is stored in the Crystal Skulls and that this information may be helpful in assisting humanity prepare for the up coming difficult times and into the New Age.

  1. The "crystal skulls" are fakes. Not real, forgeries, fakes tourist trap stuff.

The skulls have tool marks showing modern cutting and polishing techniques were used to make them. The skulls appear to have had several generations of development representing the increasing skill of one or a shop of forgers.

The current issue of "Archeology" has factual information. No half as much fun as (cue spooky music) "before they reveal their deepest secrets to us" Good grief.

The short version is the skulls appear in the 19th century, first as beads then in larger sizes. Examination showed that the original ones were actual beads that were remade into skulls. As others appeared they got larger. An artifacts dealer name Boban was the source for 5 of the skulls.

"These exotic carvings are usually attributed to pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures, but not a single crystal skull in a museum collection comes from a documented excavation, and they have little stylistic or technical relationship with any genuine pre-Columbian depictions of skulls, which are an important motif in Mesoamerican iconography...Although nearly all of the crystal skulls have at times been identified as Aztec, Toltec, Mixtec, or occasionally Maya, they do not reflect the artistic or stylistic characteristics of any of these cultures... Some of these "crystal" skulls have turned out to be glass; a few are made of resin.  "

As for "Crystal Skull's workmanship can not be duplicated even with today's highest technology"

"The tool marks on the skulls were compared to the tool marks remaining on genuine pre-Colombian rock crystal objects. The regular characteristics seen on both skulls showed they Detail of the teeth of the British Museum skull. A mold made of the teeth is shown in the image to the rightwere mainly worked with rotary wheels in conjunction with very hard abrasives. In the SEM image shown below, the curvature along the moulded teeth shows they were cut using a wheel...Rotary cutting wheels were not introduced to the Americas until after the Spanish conquest of Mexico in 1521. The skulls therefore cannot be of Aztec manufacture."

"the investigation of the skulls, the faint tool marks remaining on the highly polished surface of the British Museum skull and the pitted matt surface of the Smithsonian skull were examined under a microscope and in a scanning electron microscope. They were comparRock crystal skull (detail)ed to the tool marks remaining on several rock crystal objects from well-documented excavations in Mexico City and Oaxaca, Mexico. The regular characteristics seen on both skulls showed they were mainly worked with rotary wheels in conjunction with very hard abrasives. The characteristics contrasted with those seen on pre-Columbian carvings, which were carved with hand-held tools."

Some years ago during the previous craze, a documentary by Arthur C Clake showed modern tool marks on a skull.

That it, fakes of crystal glass and plastic. We note that there always the promise that someday soon all will be revealed (cue more spooky music) These things have been kicking around since the 1800s.How long are you going to wait?

  2. They are forgeries and hoaxes...

  3. I saw a bit of a documentary about this prior to the Indiana Jones movie, and basically, the skulls could only be made with modern era tools.  Further, most of the crystal skulls that first became available could all be traced back to the same guy (who claimed to be an archaelogist, but was a bit dubious).  Finally, they said that there really is little archaelogical evidence to support that Mayans believed in these skulls and if we brought one back to them they would probably have no idea what it was supposed to be.

  4. JESUS

  5. Whoa whoa whoa...

I thought this was completely fictional...Have you seen Indiana Jones? Aliens man lol

It looks like you've got all the info though.

I'm totally starring this and doing some research.

    Cheers!

P.S Here's some interesting info on them:

P.S.S Sorry if I ruined the movie for you!

  6. Yeah... Earth to you, come in please.

Of the Crystal skulls, all but one of them has been proven to be a fake artifact in that they were carved using conventional means and that the time period of their creation has also been determined. The one that doesnt fit into this is the one you referred to as "can not be duplicated even with today's highest technology".

This carving method used on this last skull doesnt really concern me at all. After all, we have lost as many skills and trades as we have developed.

Additionally, I have personal experience with hoax items that educated and experienced people have made similar claims about to fall for something like this.

How would a Mayan alive today know how calendars produced thousands of years ago were produced? The very notion of this is an afront to history. Seriously, information stored in a crystal skull that was manufactured sometime with the past 100 years...
