What do you know about the rivalry between Los Californios and Los Mexicanos?

Specifically, I am referring to the soccer / futbol vibe between anglo-US loving soccer players and chicano-Mexico supporters. esp. in So Cal.

Are u referring to Mexicans who have been here for generations vs. 1st generation, son/daughter of immigrants?

The problem is that long generation Mexicans are white washed. The problem arises when they claim to be Mexicans or try to be Mexicans. There's nothing stronger than Mexican pride, and for some Americanized    to try and claim our nationality is infuriating.

Another great difference is economic status. About 90% of first gen. are lower class and have to struggle. More than half of later gen. people are middle class, and lifes easy for them. So when they try to "relate" to us, its like, wth? u cant understand. get out of here

dont really know what your referring to but if u mean people born in the US (cali) vs. people born in Mexico, well there has always been a difference, cause the "chicano" isnt accepted by neither the US or Mexican culture, US people saying they too mexican, and mexicans saying they are still gringos......

You have to be a bit more specific about your question!  I live in Los Angeles and like Com. Marcos said....Chicanos are not accepted by either Americans or Mexicans from Mexico!  

There is also Mexicans who were born in Mexico and raised in the US like me!  I know alot of Mexicans who are illegals here an once they become American citizens, they turn their back on their people and culture and act like they are 100% white!  Example, really up with the minute man and protest to deport illegals and so forth!  There is also a rivalry in that!  So I dont really know which one your talking about!  

Here in So-Cal.....its only in the two extreames!!  People who root for Mexico and Hate the USA and vice versa!  

You have the two things.....(well what I experinced so far!).  You have me who roots for Mexico and I have white friends who root for the USA....when they play we get into friendly rivariers....and at the end of the game...whoever wins or lose...we are still friends!!  

The other things that I have experienced was when Mexico played against the USA and tied 2-2. I was in a restarant ...a Mexican restaraunt to add to that and more then half of the people there were rooting for the USA!  The US crowd was divided into three.  Guatemalians, Salvadorians and Americans!  And when Mexico scored, I screamed my lungs out and screamed out the goal!  Since then....they gave me the bad look and at the end of the game we almost got into a fight because some of the other people started to get racist on us!  Bringing up things that had nothing to do with soccer!!  Talking about Wetbacks and how nobody wants us here, deport ever mexican, they hope the wall keeps us out and so forth!  The people of California dont like us here and they hate the fact that they have to deal with Mexicans everyday....and bring it into soccer!!   Thats what I have experienced....so sorry for rambling and I dont know if this helps!

I am 2nd Mexican generation, Born and raised in Orange county California. That does not change the fact that

Chivas LA has two main supporters groups: La Legion 1908 and the Union Ultras.

The Legion's allegiance is mostly to Guadalajara, and the group is rather exclusive. The Union Ultras were designed to be "open to anyone," and their allegiance is purely to Chivas LA.

They dislike and sometimes fight each other.

but if your saying the white americans against the mexicans from mexico, i wouldnt know how to answer because i from socal myself, and mexican.

but as i mexican from socal i will say that, the white americans always refer to the old country when we say mexico is better than usa,

they say england is better than mexico.

but then i say, what happened in the euro's 08????
