Well - among other things - we have Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Vaughan Williams, Shaw and Wilde (both actually Irish), Wilfred Owen, Benjamin Britten and  Laurie Lee.  You have Walt Disney and John Wayne (you know, the 'patriot' who wriggled and twisted not to serve in WWII, which started for us in 1939, not 1941).

How's that for starters?

ENGLAND WANTS US BACK BECAUSE THEY ENVY US. WE MAY BE MORE AGGRESSIVELY POWERFUL THAN THE BRITISH EMPIRE COULD EVER HAVE BEEN. THEY ARE JEALOUS OF THAT TOO. THEY BACKED IN IRAQ FOR TWO REASONS. ONE, CHURCHILL AND ENGLAND CREATED THIS MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE. TWO, THEY SUPPORT US SO THAT WHEN WE FALL THEY WILL BE FIRST IN LINE TO PICK UP THE PIECES.

Have you ever been to the other country? You people... I'm from the US and when I went to England (I've been there twice), every one was very nice and I loved it. I've heard people from England say the same thing about the US. I think most of you people only know what you see on the news about each other. Not to mention it's easy to act like children, throwing anonymous insults from behind a computer. I know that in reality it's a pitiful and pointless debate about whose country is better, and the vast majority of it is on the internet.
