  1. i have heard of that but i heard that they're not gonna have a headset which is gonna be a phail but it's gonna be sitting on top of the Wii's sensor bar. the sensitivity will be in question and the audio compression as well. however i feel like Nintendo will be releasing a headset in sometime in 2009.

interesting...it's kinda in question if they are gonna make it compatible with games that are already out before the Wii speak will be out. but im guessing it will because it will be sorta like the 360 now. but i don't think we will know for sure until Wii speak comes out... but at least Nintendo is doing something about communication now (Y)

  2. It is a microphone that clips to the top of your TV like the sensor bar and picks up your voice. And all the other noises in the room, like echos from your tv and your little brother screaming at you. Great job, Nintendo.

  3. It will not work with previous disc games, as it is virtually impossible to update games with the Wii's operating system. If it were possible, it would have undoubtedly have been revealed to help sales. It is possible to update WiiWare titles, however, as they run directly off of the Wii's memory, but it's still up to the developers if they want to implement the feature.

Even if it were possible, Nintendo has stated that they didn't want competitive games such as Mario Kart or Brawl to include a voice chat feature because "they're games where tempers can be frayed and people might use language that's not appropriate for everyone to hear".

WiiSpeak is scheduled to be released November 16th for $29.99 (USD). Currently there are only two games confirmed to be compatible, Animal Crossing: City Folk and The Conduit (third-party FPS).

The USB device is designed to clip onto the sensor bar and since it picks up audio from the entire room its in, it will filter out unwanted noise, including sound effects from the game itself.
