  1. Well I learned 2-foot glides, forward swizzles, and snowplow stop.

  2. That ice is COLD.

  3. Typically they begin with stopping, getting up off the ice after falling, and simple forward glides.

  4. since it was only my 3rd or so time on the ice i was in the very beginners group. we learned how to fall and get up,forwards 'penguin' marching, 1/2 snowplough stops, 2 foot glide, backwards marching and forwards fishies (or bubbles). but it took another 9 lessons until i could do all that well enough to pass the test at the end of term..

if you have any questions ask the instructor and most importantly: have fun! :D

  5. if ur toataly a beginer u learn the basics such as ......

    keep ur balence

    little marches

    and keep ur arms out

if u have a free flow teacher u might learn how to glide a little

  6. It depends where you live but when I had my first lesson , they just got all beginners together , and said if you can skate to the other side of the rink go if not stay (width of rink) if you can they take you to a group and teach skating foward, then skating backward then lemons , which is moving heels in and out to make a lemon shape ( bend knees on this) if you cannot skate to other side of rink you get put in a group with people of same ability, so it really depends on ability.

    good luck.

  7. usually u will learn to glide forwards and do small circles called swiggles

  8. Depends on whether it's a group or private class and how much of the basic stuff you already knew before you took classes.

I already knew a bit on how to do backwards wiggles and forward crossovers (abeit not pretty looking at all).

My first class was a private one and we did forward sculling and the snowplot stop. Hard to believe I can actually still remember it even though it was almost 9 years ago. ^^'

  9. well depends..

how much do you already know.

the first things to be learned are forward and backward swizzles, skating forward, turning, and stopping

  10. what level are you in??????????????????

basic 1: regular skating, 1 foot, dip, that kinda stuff

2: spin prep, 3 turn, snowplow stop

    3: spin, pivot, spiral

4: forward crossovers, outside/inside edges, spin

5: backward crossovers, 1 foot spin, outside/inside edges,

6: waltz jump, bunny hop, mazurka

on your first lesson you probably wont be that far
