  1. Besides his skills? Man, his skills are what make him so amazing.  He has a great personality as far as sportsmanship goes, and an excellent unsullied character. No one can argue that who knows him, however, he's not flamboyant or nutty like some others, so people who are boring and bored easily probably don't like him.

My sister is in love with him, and I think probably because of his looks, because she has a million posters of his around and kisses them a lot HAHA!

  2. Besides his awesome all-court versatile style of play, fantastiv serve, great footwork, excellent defense. I like him because he's a genuinely nice guy, he's respectful of other players, he never has anything bad to say about anyone no matter how much he wins or loses against them. Roger never gloats to the world that he's number one and a 12 time grandslam champion, he just lets his racket talk for him and he always shows utter class on and off court. Besides that he's a snappy dresser, very handsome, great head of curly dark hair, a cute smile, nice eyes, LOL. I also have always loved his body, he's in great shape, and he's long, lean, and elegant, he's tall, he doesn't look like he's on steroids or should be on them, he's just himself. I really like the fact that he's a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF and he works with charities for AIDS awareness it shows how dedicated he is to his charity. Roger is a real champion because of his great attitude towards tennis, and no matter what he won't go down without a fight, it's always amazed me how no matter which way a match is going, he never makes any noises, if he does, I just crack up cause he's so quiet, LOL. King Roger rules!

  3. being a good gentleman and his sportmanship

  4. Besides his skills, I like him for what and who he is as a person.

he has all the characteristics of a real gentleman and the looks of real sportsman when he is on court and off court.

the author of this question has other ideas of federer, i think...

  5. nothing

  6. Nothing, except the fact that he's been losing a lot lately.

  7. mmm I like the way he is, he is always helping other people, and another thing i like about him is that when somebody ask him about another player he's always nice and tell good things, not like novak that always is criticizing the others, and roger don't care if the others talk bad things about him, he always talk good things, and off course I like how he looks with mirka : D

oh yea and his hair... :)

  8. He has strong character. Also he is famous for gracious sportsmanship. He looks very handsome in many ways, very masculine, strong, intense eyes, kind, so much. His eyes best.

Other men on this site are jealous. They don't have character as nice like roger. They do not know this man. Maybe they not watch the tennis after all. hihihi

  9. I think that everything about him is false under the surface. When they said he is calm I think quite the opposite - I thing he is a passive aggressive person.

The greatest mystery for me is his so-called girlfriend Mirka. I have a feeling that he is a g*y (even though I am not) because Mirka is getting bigger and bigger every year (Swiss chocolate is the best) and he could have every other girl he want.

He is definitely very dedicated an stable person that handle stress enormously well. Good luck for all other people on this Earth is that his dedication is focused on sport not on some other things.

  10. He doesn't yell from the rooftop that he is no.1.

He is a good ambassador of UNICEF.

He is respectful towards other players, of past and present.

He can speak fluently in three languages.

He has a positive attitude towads the sport, inspite of all his losses which is why he stands amongst his peers.

He deserves to be numero uno in the tennis world for the amount of spirit and love shown towards this game.

  11. Roger pretty much epitomises what a true sportsman, gentleman and champion is. As a champion, his sporting achievements speak for themselves. They are well known to anyone who knows tennis, so bear no repeating. Besides, some of them are nicely covered in an earlier post.

A gentleman - indeed. This is undisputed. A shame that some people on this thread cannot dare to think this is fact. Roger speaks so highly of his opponents - even when losing to them; carries himself on and off court with grace and elegance, charm and good humour; is considered (among the media), the greatest ambassador for the sport that has ever graced the #1 ranking - for the copious interviews he does; that he conducts them in three languages and up to 45-50 minutes until all questions done; makes himself readily accessible to the media and other non-playing events; does a lot behind the scenes to help build and promote the game; as with a lot of celebrities and sports "stars" he does a fair bit of work for charity, has his own foundation; been a UNICEF Goodwill ambassador; did a 2007 World AIDS day public service announcement....it goes on...

For those questioning his relationship with Mirka and why they're not married - that is his business, not ours. Many people have lived together for years and never get married. Many people have long term relationships, have children and never get married. Marriage is the sham really. They clearly are devoted to each other and love each other. That is what matters. I am sure that some of the posters here that take issue with Roger's relationship status have divorced parents, or non-married parents. NOT IMPORTANT. Get over that. Love and loyalty are better than needing to be married.

And yeah, he is a pretty darned good looking dude. Classic, strong European facial features and model good looks. He has learned some pretty good taste in fashion too - anyone who owns a Zegna suit and clothing would know ;-)

Could keep on going, but will leave it here. Roger is a class act!

  12. Well Roger is dedicated and hardworking, he is a tennis fan first and foremost and gives respect to former players for their past accomplishments as he does to present day players for their success. He was the only player that sent James Blake get well wishes after his head first collision with a net post. He controls his temper as good as anyone given what a demanding sport tennis can be on a player. He is a gentleman, a true sportsman, a great champion, a competitor, an advocate, a spokesman, a fund raiser, a devote companion to Mirka. As for the comments as to her weight gain and whether or not Fed is basting the turkey or if she is simply sublimating through endulging in Swiss chocolate that is not common knowledge nor is it anyones business but I'm sure if it was then people would be talking about it. For the time being all I know is that he is still devotely in love with her as she is with him and tennis is his number one priority.

The records that Roger holds in tennis history such as: the most prominent of which is that he has won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the same year three times: 2004, 2006, and 2007. He has surpassed a myriad of long-standing records, including: Equalling Björn Borg's Open Era record of five consecutive Wimbledon singles titles in 2007 Capturing the Open era record of most consecutive US Open titles (four) in 2007; Ranked World #1 for an ongoing record of 223 consecutive weeks as of May 12, 2008, outlasting Jimmy Connors's record of 160 consecutive weeks as #1 men's player and Steffi Graf's record of 186 weeks as #1 singles player in the world. Awards won by Roger - Federer has won numerous awards during his tennis career. His most significant achievement was winning his fourth consecutive Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award, in 2008

Gillette could not have found a better person to represent tennis or sport in general than Roger to star along side Thierry (one of the greatest footballers or all time) and Tiger (the greatest golfer) in the Fusion Power commercial. As for the haters who we can call Djokovic supporters they may not admit it but they dislike him because he is the Greatest Of All Time and the only losses he suffered at the hands of Novak were tarnished by Rogers mono at the Australian Open which he suffered the effects of and may still not be 100% although playing much better. So the 5-2 head to head lead Roger holds would have been 6-1 if not for his illness. I also like how Roger doesn't just pull out of matches or Tournaments like Novak does with all sorts of claims real and fake. I like how Roger doesn't have a rude embarrassing family disrupting the other player at matches like Djokovic does. I like how Roger doesn't disrespect players like Djokovic does with his comments and impersionations. Rogers humble attitude when given his accomplishments - during his 10 year Pro Career to have won 54 Singles Titles, 7 Doubles Titles, won 12 Grand Slams, being ranked #1 in the world for the past 223 consecutive weeks (4 years 3 months 2 weeks) almost half his career. Compared to Novak's arrogance when given his lack or accomplishment - during his 5 year Pro Career has won 10 Singles Titles, NO doubles Titles, won 1 Grand Slam*, as has been ranked as high as #3 for almost 11months.

    * The one Slam won was the 2008 Australian Open where he defeated Tsonga in the Final. Tsonga - Pro for 4 years of which he was injured for 2, with NO singles titles under his belt and making his first Finals appearance. Tsonga had played brilliantly defeating Murray, Youzhny, Gasquet and in the zone in the Semi's when he beat Nadal but then played at a much lower level against Novak in the Final. Roger was defeated in the Semi by Novak but was feeling the effects of mono. So forever will this 1 Grand Slam of Novaks be questioned as whether or not he is truely a Grand Slam Champion until he wins a 2nd just to prove that he is. Just like the people questioned Maria Sharapova after her Wimbledon win and then nothing for over 2 years until she won the US.

  13. nothing, besides maybe his love for mirka.-

  14. I like Mirka

  15. He has the poise and grace of a champion.

    He is uniquely himself

He enjoys playing the game and the game of life.

Witness his amusement when he was presented with yet another car as a bonus for winning.

Sometimes we get a flash of the 'little scrapper' he once was

as -A Blistering Ace says 'Watch this'.

He is willing to take spectacular chances.

He strives to be entertaining and has taken time to polish his craft.

    He's a magician (I love magic)

He'll go until he drops to give the spectators value for money,

He is always true to himself a King who wears his crown with enthusiasm and joy.

The rest of us can take a page from his book - presented like a trophy - if we need it.

Thankyouverymuch, and sometimes we just might.

Mika is his manager. friend, companion and lover. Why eat hamburger when you have fillet steak at home.

  16. Im thinking its about time he put a ring on Mirka`s finger lol i mean going with each other for like 8years...something dodgy going on, why doesnt he marry her ? And i guess sometimes Roger can look hot :O *note* the word SOMETIMES :) But erm yeah he`s a gentleman and respects all players but for some reason i dont think he likes Novak Djokovic the way he speaks about him in interviews gives me that impression lol

  17. If James finds Roger a little bit arrogant, what do you call Djokovic then? .....were talking about attitudes here and if the howlering and shouting of the Djokivic family in every match of Nole isnt a sign of first class arrogance, then i dont know what the word arrogant means.......

But to continue with the question, i like Federer for his down to earth attitude....he always have some good words against his opponent whoever it may be....

  18. i find him little bit arrogant
