What do you like about SURREAL arts?

If you allow surreal art, Dali being probably the foremost well known exponent,  to just bypass your left brain babbling and analysis, and go straight to your "soul", you realize just how archetypal the images are.  

Such work is not meant to be super analyzed and debated, it's like a Zen work that impacts your depths and helps you to see, strangely enough, true reality.  That reality which is superior to functioning in merely the barren wasteland of our mechanistic, superficial  post industrial culture

Surrealism 'bends' reality so that the viewer can see different things ... Dali used women on crutches thus combining two 'props' that men use to get through life.  He bent clocks because we try to 'bend time' as we go through life.  I'm married to a fine artist, and he also uses 'surrealsim' in his drawings ... he doesn't 'bend' thinks in the same way Dali did, but uses things like strips of cloth to represent the Holy Trinity ... and he does what may seem like 'small mistakes' ... two strips of cloth going to a wooden strip and tied, but there are THREE ends ... or showing candles burning in reflection on the glass of a greenhouse, with no candles either outside or in.  The 'candle flames' represent FAITH ...

I've always appreciated surrealism in art, and now I find a deeper 'understanding' of the things the 'artist' does to 'twist the mind' of the viewers to get them to 'think a bit more deeply' on life in general, or on their own lives ... and creating nice 'pictures' at the same time.

It would help if you elaborated a bit more.  If you mean like Dali; rubbish, the sort of stuff you thought was cool when you were studying art age 12.
