What do you like about cats?

Question

I was just wondering. I don't have a cat. But do they make good pets?

They are AWESOME pets!! So sweet, emotional, and intelligent!! Go to your local spca if you are interested. They are such wonderful animals, I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

People that don't have cats say they are aloof, arrogant "catty", etc but they are so far from that and I have had cats all my life...

YES! Best. Pets. Ever. They're cuddly and energetic, and adorably. I have 3 cats, and they're all so different. While changing the litterbox daily gets SO annoying, its worth it. And while they meow like crazy some times, they're just great pets. My 5 yr. old cat even knows his name, and comes when I call him, and he licks me all the time. 5 out of the 7 days of the week, I wake up to him l*****g my face. He's so adorable, and loyl, and follows me around.

So,in a nutshell, I would recommend to anyone with extra love to give to get a cat.

If you get a cat from a litter and pick out one that is already affectionate, and then spoil it with love from there, they'll become you're new best friend. sooo sweet and in my opinion much better than dogs. just never let your kitten bite you, even playing, so they know that its wrong and it hurts you. my cat feels so bad when he accidentaly bites cuz i taught him right =)

I like their attitude, the way they look, and being around them.  When raised to trust people they are loving, wonderful and entertaining animals to have in your life.

They can be funny. they can be independent and not want messed with. And then when they do want attention they wont leave you alone. Right now as im typing this i have a cat sitting on the back of my computer chair resting up against my shoulders trying to sleep. If i were to move suddenly she would hit the ground. Even though she is bothering the h**l out of me i feel obligated to sit here and let her do her thing.

Depends, if you get them from being a really little kitten you can hopefully morph them into a good cat versus a cat that has already learned some crappy behaviours.

But they are always so cutely (if they have been handled/used to people) and they are so cute how could you not love them!

I think that its the way that they can be independent and take care of themselves, but at the same time, be very cuddly and nice if taken care of properly. I, personally, love both cats and dogs, but I believe that cats are easier to take care of. And who REALLY needs to teach their pet 'sit' or 'lie down' or 'roll over'? I mean, it's nice to have the pet follow your commands, but pets are about love and companionship, not for them to be your soldier! Either way, cats are great, and I would recommend them to anyone. And if anybody uses the excuse that they are allergic to them, I don't accept it. My mother is allergic to cats, and she has been living with them for YEARS. She got over it. You can get rid of your allergies if you are constantly exposed to high amounts of what causes the reaction. Plain and simple. Either way, good luck, and I hope I helped!
