What do you like about your child's school? What do you dislike about your child's school?

The Good: A huge school, small classes. My daughters school has an average of 18-19 children in it. They have a nice updated facility, a huge gym, and a big recess/play area for the children to play in. The teachers are very nice and helpful.

The Bad: Very competitive lets-see-how-better-my-kid-is-then-yours type of school. We live in a wealthy comunity and we also get rude and nosy comments from families about ohh, my kid planted a tree because we reeally care about the enviorment, oooh my kid won state nationals championship spelling bee, ugh! Also, huge projects. They expect a lot from 5 year olds who wet the bed. (Bad experience with neighbors 5 year olds) Another is super expensive phones! Eight year olds are texting on there iphone and there second phone....BLA! They also serve veggie burgers in there cafeteria. And the reason we have spring break is because of the jewish kids....passover, no offense, i have a lot of jewish friends, a LOT of bar and bat mitzvahs.

I like the fact that our elementary school encourages parents to help in the classroom.  We can do many things that are helpful to the teacher while seeing the children learn and interact.  When our child talks about something that happened that day, we can relate to it.  We can also see how the teacher relates to the students.  Some teachers are excellent.  When our child has a question about why something happened, we can explain it because we are aware of what went on.

Our teachers give undevided attention to our kids whenever they need it. Its a nice facility, and the after school programs are great and have a wide veriety. the swimming pool is indoor and reat for public swimming in the winter too.

Taxes are a little high.

The teachers and administration at the school are awesome. They always go above and beyond their means to make sure the kids have the best education they can.

I don't dislike the school but I dislike the area it is in.
