  1. Like Sausage, beer and the girl they call Heidi. Dislike the were forever sorry routine for the War.

  2. I love teaching them -

I don't like the shops - miss shopping in the UK and I also miss UK mentality - people are different here

    But I do like you

    x

  3. When I don't know them, I dislike that they can be very distant.  They really like their personal space, and are not as open, or maybe as in your face as Americans.  About the country, there is nothing I dislike, except that it can be expensive to travel to.

    What do I like?

About the people, when they do become close to you (when they start using the word "du" to speak to you) then they are genuinely warmer and more accepting than most people I have ever met in my life.

    About the country

    Wine

    Beer

    The beautiful Rhine River

The excitement and modernness of Berlin

The fact that history is so vivid so recently.   You can talk over beer with someone who was there when the wall fell.  You can visit the Concentration Camps (I don't like that piece of German history, but I don't blame it on the present-day Germans.)

    Their real sense of history

    The outstanding museums.

    The FABULOUS transport system.

    The majesty of Cologne's Cathedral

    The stories that are everywhere

    Did I mention wine?

    Pfifferline mit Rahm!

Castles - especially Burg Elz and the Wartburg

    Outdoor festivals and such

    Glühwein and hot nuts

Englisher Garten in Munich - nude sunbathers in a conservative city.

    Berlin - I LOVE BERLIN

    Karnival in Köln

The language - when you learn it you find it is much prettier than it gets credit for.

    That just scratches the surface.

  4. We have such a bad reputation in the uk and ireland?

good to know for my next vacation in london! *lol*

    i dislike about germany:

    the politics,

    the money ->euro,

    the weather,

    the bad movies and actor......................................

    i like about gemany:

    the beer,

the language (the angry klingon sound *lol*),

only the nice people (like me ;-D)

    that all !

    i think!

    cu

  5. . i love the bratwurst and beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. i like the girls. the n**i probably bother s people the most

  6. I love their rallies of the 1930,s

  7. I have to say when going on holiday, they are really arragont.

They leave the towells on the sunbeds and go out all day.

On my last holiday, there was just 2 sunbeds with towells on and an umbrella. In this place sunbeds and umbrellas were quite hard to find as the pool area got pretty packed. So we asked my friend (one of the lifeguards) for an umbrella so I could have a bit of shade for a bit and he took theirs seeing as nobody had been there for about 6 or 7 hours. When they came back the man came stomping up to us saying "Why did you take my umbrella? Its not yours!" and I'm like "Its not yours either!" anyway my mum told him that my friend gave us it much to my annoyance and he spent the rest of the hour looking for him.

  8. They are well behaved people rich or poor.    Germany is very clean.   If the states has an equivalent unemployment rate, many parts of the states will be war zones.

  9. they always get the sunbeds first when you are on holiday. They make great cars though. .......................

  10. I am neutral about them--no strong feelings one way or the other.

    The flag is ugly.

  11. I want to applaud first the last (very informative and the longest entry) answer. Germany is amazing! Sometimes cultures that are heavily stereotyped or made fun are the ones where its been a matter of course to "accept" these generalizations. Every culture has its widespread quirks but massive generalizations can lead to people not TRULY attempting to discover a culture. Germany is one such place. Its alive and pulsating with people that genuinely are mindful of trying to do their very best. Much respect to Deutschland. Yes try LEARNing the language instead of just poking fun at it. I like it! Its a fun language that is interesting to learn how to inject your emotion into. I  I enjoy reading it to try to find things that resemble English. Funny I still encounter people that think that English is a roman based language but its Germanic. So a little of what you would read in German as an English speaker will translate since the words came from German or the Germanic language base!

  12. Like the beer, dislike da u boats

  13. Well, I'm 25% German but I think the whole Adolf Hitler/n**i thing tends to bother people most.

  14. Like- Germans make good lager

Dislike- The German language sounds like an angry Klingon. Athough for me, that might actually be a plus.
