  1. it's like a go-kart track. You're never catching anybody, you're just going around in circles over and over again. (That's a quote from Ricky Craven) I love the Bristol night race, it's amazing. I think I like it because it's 43 cars going for the same thing on a half-mile at speeds of 170 mph going into corners. It's also a fast short track, unlikee martinsville where you break so hard you could hurt your back.

I didn't think I'd be this excited last week for the Sharpie 500 but I'm pumped up for the nationwide race! No need to say the Cup race!

  2. Mountain Dew Fan, I agree that the racing is fun to watch but get your facts straight, they don't get anywhere near 170mph, more like 120. But I like it because the leader gets into lapped traffic so quickly so it takes a strong talented driver to weave through the slower traffic.

  3. the tempers flaring

  4. I used to LOVE Bristol - the racing there was awesome.

But since they repaved it, it's all gone downhill.

But I still look forward to Bristol, because it's BRISTOL, BABY!

  5. One more for they ruined it by repaving it.

It was once one of my favorite tracks.

  6. Bristol is the Roman Coliseum of NASCAR.  Broken cars without a bunch of broken bones.  Gotta love it.

  7. I love short track racing... I love Bristol... there is so much action there and people can go from first to last in seconds.  I am looking forward to tomorrow night, but I got tickets to see a comedian, jim gaffigan (know him?  he's hilarious), on sat. night, so I can't watch the race :(

  8. Short track racing is the best , much more competative and alot of action !  At Bristol , there is not a bad seat , you can see the whole track from anywhere you sit . Not to mention , I love the smell of burnt rubber !

  9. I love short track racing.  I think it makes them work harder for the win.

Think about it, all night they are bumping and rubbing and trying to keep it off the wall.

I usually try to go to the race at Bristol but this year I have to stay home.

  10. Yes I love Bristol and my favorite thing about it used to be the bump and run! But VP Tom G has it right. IMO Ever since they repaved it they have taken away some of it's character. Wrecks, being hard to pass, and moving people out of the way was what gave bristol it's reputation. If you want green side by side racing watch Atlanta.

  11. I like the beaten' and bangin' (B&B). I was disappointed that they repaved the track. It took some of the "B&B" out of the track. When they repaved it everyone was scared to drive aggressively because  they were worried about NASCAR coming down on them for rough driving. Hopefully someone will push the envelope this year and bring the "B&B" back.

This is one track where Kyle could drive like an idiot and I would not mind. I love Bristol...!!!

  12. bristol is bumper to bumper action, there are always cars getting overlapped and its a very good track for my favorite driver jeff gordon to get his first win of the season

  13. For me, Bristol is the best! The short track racing combined with those awsome grandstands that surround the track make a spectacle thats hard to beat. When you're there the atmosphere is electric.

I wish I could afford to go twice a year, but my budget limits me to the spring race. But I'll be watching on TV and loving every minute of it!

  14. I used to love the bump and grind but since the repave, it has turned to a miniature California.

  15. The atmosphere.  I don't think there's a better atmosphere at any race than Bristol's night race, except maybe Daytona, but from what I can tell on TV even that's debatable.

  16. 1.  It's BRISTOL baby!!  Nothing like it anywhere, and even though the racing isn't what it used to be...the atmosphere is still electrifying.

    2. N/A because I do like it.

    3. A Dale Jr win, and a Jr Nation party like no other!!!

    Go 88!

  17. Short track, bumping and rubbing..trading paint....besides

they all doing the "Bristol Stomp"

  18. I agree that Bristol has now changed.  We all loved the old "one groove" Bristol and the paving doesn't make for exciting TV.

But, if only have ONE track to go to in your life, make it Bristol. There is nothing like it anywhere.  160,000 people crammed around a 1/2 mile track. You can virtually see everything, all the time.  You can smell the exhaust and even with headphones and earplugs, the noise is incredible..  The action is all over the track and all you have to do is turn your head side to side....
