the whole idea of a 'thing' that is constantly having nuclear reactions go off inside it.....

I was one of those that thought the Sun was 'burning' until I managed to understand what a nuclear reaction was.... about the time of the Atomic Bomb.... I know that's a huge blast, but to consider that it's wee tiny compared to what's going on in the sun constantly... wowee!!!

I'm not a sun worshipper.  I keep out of it as much as I can.  I know a bit is needed though to get vitamin D into these old bones.  The thing I like best is the sunset.

Do you mean besides the fact that it's an integral part of our existence as life forms?

Hmmm, as far as viewing it goes...  I like sunsets and sunrises.  And when those get boring, sometimes I will look opposite of the sun at sunset/sunrise.  And just watch the "night-set" or "night-rise."  Cause night doesn't fall at all.  It rises just like everything else!  Look east at sunset some night, and watch the sky blue turn to blue, turn to dark blue, turn to purple, turn to dark gray and black...  it creeps up just like daylight does!

Also, I like photosynthesis.  The sun is pretty neat for making my raspberries grow out of controll every summer.

And I like the warmth I get from it...  except during certain summer days.

As far as what I like BEST about it...  it's a close call.
